A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • I Heart Pussy Tattoos

….but honestly, I’m not posting this tattoo because I want you to play a few rounds of pocket pool. I actually wanted to show it because they’ve done a nice job hiding a caesarian (ie. c-section) pubic scar — something that 600,000 people in America alone have to deal with every year. This is on IAM:_GEISHA_, and was done by DZ at Studio 138 in Kalamazoo.

  • She take my money when I’m in need

    Cutie the bomb
Met her at a beauty salon
    With a baby Louis Vuitton
    Under her underarm

According to Alyssa Jane, MGDW stands for “Materialistic Gold Digging Whore”. No offense intended to Alyssa, but guys, I’ve got one piece of advice for you: stick with the sluts. They’re a lot more fun I think.

Oh, chickenheads.com, I love you so.

  • Silly Tattoo

What kind of person gets a tattoo of one stick figure kicking another stick figure in the nuts? I guess you’d have to ask Jamie at Voodoo Tattoo in Huntsville, TX.

Edit: This entry originally contained the wrong artist credit and was thus updated.

  • Hey Chris Otepka: “entire” is not a verb!

IAM:youwithoutme is a big fan of Troubled Hubble (great band name), so she got some lyrics tattoed on her — “What inspires you should entire you. Live how you wannabe loved.” Tattoo applied by Josh B at Sacred Skin in Clive, Iowa… I like what the tattoo is saying even with the odd grammar, but if it was me I’m sure the typo (“wannabe” instead of “want to be”) would drive me bonkers!

Damn, I feel so guilty when I point these things out, but at the same time I hope it illustrates what care you need to take when getting a tattoo with lettering… Even when you know the subject well it’s so easy to make mistakes like this.

  • Long wing tattoo

His IAM name will not surprise you: winged_boi. The tattoo was done by Glen West at Clean Tattoo in Santa Clara, California.

  • Zapatista Tattoo

OK, so this Zapatista tattoo was done on a white guy (solidarity) by Mike Moses of Enigma in Richmond, but still, pretty interesting… I’m not surprised when I see a Che tattoo, or a communist icon, or Hitler even, but I wasn’t expecting to see a Zapatista tattoo.

Marcos is gay in San Francisco, black in South Africa, an Asian in Europe, a Chicano in San Ysidro, an anarchist in Spain, a Palestinian in Israel, a Mayan Indian in the streets of San Cristobal, a gang member in Neza, a rocker in the National University, a Jew in Germany, an ombudsman in the Defense Ministry, a communist in the post-Cold War era, an artist without gallery or portfolio…. A pacifist in Bosnia, a housewife alone on Saturday night in any neighborhood in any city in Mexico, a striker in the CTM, a reporter writing filler stories for the back pages, a single woman on the subway at 10 pm, a peasant without land, an unemployed worker… an unhappy student, a dissident amid free market economics, a writer without books or readers, and, of course, a Zapatista in the mountains of southeast Mexico. So Marcos is a human being, any human being, in this world. Marcos is all the exploited, marginalized and oppressed minorities, resisting and saying, ‘Enough’!

  • Garlic!

The second greatest plant in the world! Chestpiece tattoo by Brett Osborne (IAM:Bretticus) at Pure Body Arts in Brooklyn, NYC. We’ve showed other great examples of his work in the past here… if you ask me for a recommendation for a tattoo artist in the NYC area, his name will definitely be on that list!

  • “Fight Until Die”

Everyone makes jokes about kanji tattoos that have innocent non-native mistakes resulting in humorous gramattical gaffs, but don’t forget that it’s also quite common to see the same in reverse. This is by Laura Perello at Samoa Tattoo Studio in beautiful Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Oops.

Well, it’s an easy mistake to make and I’m sure on that pretty little island everyone is so bliss filled that it’s really the least of anyone’s worries.

  • Father and Daugter Matching Tattoos

Thanks to DJ Polly from Brasil for these photos of her and her hero and best friend, her dad. He got his tattoo (left picture of course) fifty years ago, and now his daughter has a matching tattoo inspired by his. Awww, isn’t that sweet!

  • Super Pollo Contra Tattoo

To tell the truth Greg‘s tattoo (by Bill Falsetta at Name Brand Tattoo in Ann Arbor, MI) is the spreadshot icon from the Nintendo game Contra, but to me in Mexico, all I can think of when I see it is Super Pollo (the fried chicken chain)… I know, they don’t really look that similar, but still…

PS. Thanks Phil for going out and snapping a photo of the sign!
