A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

Word of mouth has been our method of reuniting the community, and it has brought a substantial amount of us together. I am inspired by your loyalty and I want to remind more people of BME’s existence. In 2020 we gained control over @bmezine on Instagram. It has been sitting dormant since then, which we are changing now. I believe that we can reunite thousands of past BME members by getting exposure there. Initially, I would like to feature you on our page. If you have any works you are particularly proud of, please send submissions to [email protected] and include if possible your artist, any interesting details about the work, and you @ if you would like to be tagged.

I have ideas of interviews, videos about different body mods, and news, but you know exactly what you want to see. If you have suggestions or ideas please email me at [email protected] .

BME continues to exist because of all of you. Thank you,

    Nefarious Larratt

  • BMEtv – Kaleidoscope Tattoo

One of our first stops in Australia was Kaleidoscope Tattoo down in Bondi Beach. We spoke with tattooers Luciano Lima, Freddy, Stevie Edge, Cory Ohrman and their piercer Brady Hardin. If you’re ever lucky enough to be checking out the beautiful beaches of Sydney, Australia, there is no doubt you’ll be making a stop to see the world famous Bondi Beach. Don’t forget to visit Kaleidoscope Tattoo while you’re there!

Keep reading to check out the video!

Note: Please let us know if you’re experiencing any issues with the videos. Due to the unreliable nature of the integrated video player in wordpress, we will be putting the videos behind the break. We already know that the auto play doesn’t work properly. Despite having it disabled, in some browsers it still starts playing which causes a big problem if you have more than one video on a page! This is the primary reason we are putting the videos themselves behind the break.

If you have any issues playing the videos, please let us know in the comments. Please include your OS,  browser type/version and anything that you think will help us to determine what the issue is. Please make sure to be more specific than comments like “it doesn’t work”.

Subtitles: If anyone would like to volunteer to transcribe the videos so that we can add subtitles for our hearing impaired members, please send me an email and let me know. I would love to be able to include those. Thank you!

  • Shhh…

You’ll have to excuse my silence but my hard drive started failing last week and then went completely.  Now that I’m back up and running, I’m trying to get caught up on moderation again.  That’s just what I was doing when I came across this submission from SaD and I thought it was really cool!  The artist is Roman Fursov from Хорс in Lipetsk, Russia.  One of the best parts of moderating images for BME is getting to see the work that comes out of so many different countries. I’ve definitely noticed a rise in submissions from shops outside of the US and Canada and that’s fantastic!

I can’t place the girl but she’s very familiar to me. The portrait is based on the Wasp Queen doll by artist Virginie Ropars.  I love the shading on the face and in particular around her lips and the furrow of her brow.

  • Not your average medical tattoo

jb7i-untitled-image This photo comes from the vaults of BME and included no submission details but I thought it made a nice lead in to the following news story: Nano Ink “Tattoo” Could Monitor Diabetes. It’s a really cool idea and I know diabetes touches the lives of many people, myself included as my father is an insulin dependent diabetic. It’s almost like those old hyper colour shirts (anyone remember those?) only it detects glucose levels and it’s a tattoo!

  • BMEshop 30% off sale!

As I have mentioned previously, BME’s world tour is going to be financed through a combination of sponsorships, my own personal income and BME’s income. Since I’m waiting on a couple of sponsorships to come through, I need to get a move on with booking our travel arrangements. Since I’ll be doing that on Friday after I confirm everything with the winners, I figured I’d kick off some fund raising efforts with a HUGE 30% off sale on BMEshop! Use the coupon code “worldtour” to get 30% on EVERYTHING except for needles, punches and anesthetics. Everything else is on sale though from Tshirts to Prints and Books, DVD’s to every kind of jewelry we have in stock! This is a great time to save some cash while getting something that you’ve been wanting and to help finance BME’s tour to bring us to a city near you!

Brian caught my eye while I was browsing through the Facial Tattooing section over on BME. His work is by Eric Rignal at Inkstop tattoo in New York City.

The sale ends Friday! To recap, 30% off with “worldtour” discount code until Friday at BMEshop!
