A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • You can always count on Chuck for finding cool pics

As I am sure many of you have noticed BMEzine’s galleries have not updated in quite a while. Well, rest assured Rachel and crew are working diligently on getting the new BME site up (it may actually go live tomorrow), so updates will soon be back to their regular level of frequency.

For the time being though, Modblog pickings have been pretty slim, which is why I haven’t been posting as much lately. In an attempt to gain some content, I have been messaging people on IAM.

I knew Allen had a ton of pics from the Annual Agro Super Pull in Houston, so I shot him a message and asked for his top picks.  Needless to say, he had a bunch to choose from. Of the amazing pictures, none seemed more modblog worthy than these two shots from Mary Beth’s iphone showing the 30 person super pull.

That’s cool and all, but if you want to see it become a little more “super”, keep on keeping on.

About being a featured girlThis event is open to all BME Girls age 18 and over. Girls of all shapes, sizes and race are encouraged to submit pictures. Contestants can be dressed or nude, but nothing too pornographic will be featured. Pictures need to be of decent quality, lest the readers condemn me to hell for posting webcam shots. Agreeing to be involved is consenting to be featured in the calendar, if you are selected for it. If you want to suggest someone, feel free to do so. I will contact them and see if they are interested, but no one will be featured without their explicit approval. To submit pictures, please email them to [email protected] Make sure to include your IAM: name (or real name) in your email.

About votingVotes will be tallied by emailing [email protected], just make the subject “Vote (insert name of girl you choose)” and your vote will be tallied.  Votes will be anonymous, there is no reason for anyone to know who voted for whom and how many votes each girl got.  Voting for one week ends when the following weeks post goes up. Please note, this isn’t about competition, it’s about a fun, interactive way to get the readers involved in the selection process.

About Commenting: I am enforcing a strict ZERO TOLERANCE policy for negative comments about the girls. They are being kind enough to share themselves with us and to help BME make a calendar, they should not have to fear public ridicule. Negative comments will be deleted, if we have a repeat offender, all of their future modblog comments will be sent to moderation. This isn’t about censorship, it’s about common courtesy and respect.

  • Watch out Lizardman, here comes Snake Woman!

I guess our buddy The Lizardman does’t need to feel threatened, because obviously her “transformation” is less permanent than his, but it makes for a cool photo none the less.

When she is not made up as Snake Woman, she goes by Rachie Tartz. The tongue split was done by Howie and the photo was taken by Glen Tuttle.

  • Paint me a picture

What’s that you say? I can have my portrait painted and help BME at the same time? Tell me more! That’s right readers, our very Tristan, who you may remember from such posts as this one, has sent us the following:

    tri3_robin_elation
    Elation
    A portrait of Robin Henry-Wilson
    11 x 14
    oil on board

I finished this painting in under 20 hours; record shattering speed for me. I’ve never painted someone while they were around to watch the progress or even stand over my shoulder. It was surreal. I loved watching the look on her face as she’d run by and point, “that’s me!”

I’m donating my time to help the BME Legal Defense Fund. For $200 + s/h, I’ll paint a 9″ x 12″ portrait from a photo. 100% of that $200 goes to the BME Legal Defense Fund and you keep the original painting.

I understand money is tight right now for everyone so this is a test. I’m doing one painting on a first come first serve basis. After that painting is complete, If others would like to participate I’ll paint more. If you have any questions please email me at thewhiteleaf at gmail dot com.

You can see more of Tristan’s stunning work at his website. IAM members can contact him directly through his IAM page. Non-IAM members can use the email listed above or through his website.

Don’t forget, BME’s Internship 2.0 applications need to be in by Saturday (my birthday, you know)! Keep those applications coming.

  • BME World Tour Update

If you missed the initial post about BME’s world tour, you can check it out here. The short version of the contest is that BME is sponsoring a trip around the world. We’ve got 4 positions open for a writer, photographer and someone who can edit video plus a tour manager to help keep us organized while we’re out on the road. The tour manager still has to be able to blog, take photos and hold a video camera. We’ll be traveling all over Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and hopefully parts of Africa and Central/South America. Everyone needs to be able to write well enough to blog about our adventures, take photos to go along with those blogs and hold a camera steady enough to record video. Each official role means that the person assigned that role can do it “the best” out of the group. If you want to apply, please read the entire rules in the original post.

I’ve had some people comment saying that it “wasn’t fair” to require that applicants submit a video audition but I wanted to show you how easy it is to apply. All you need is a camera and a couple minutes of time to talk about yourself. I’m going to post a couple of auditions now to show you that you don’t need to do anything too complicated in your auditions. I just want to see who you are and get to know a little more about you than I could in a simple text based application. The only exception would be if you’re applying for the video editor role, since you need to have more than a basic ability to edit video. So far I’ve received over 20 completed applications. I’ve got a ton of other applications but they didn’t include a video so they’re not going to be considered until they send me their application with a video!

    First, check out Darah’s video:

Then we’ve got Rob’s video which is a two part video:

See how easy that was? You don’t have to do anything crazy, they can be simple and to the point. Remember, applications are due by midnight on February 20th, 2010!

When I get it narrowed down to the finalists after February 20th, I’ll post the videos from those applicants. If it’s a close call between a couple of people then I’ll need your help to narrow it down to the winner!

If you’re interested in helping us organize the tour, I’ve started a forum on my page. Send me an IM for access and let me know how you think you can help!
