A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • The Friday Follow-up

This week’s follow-up features one of BME’s newest members, Kcir.

This Gorgon cutting was done a couple of months ago down in Houston, TX.  To see how it’s looking now, you know what to do.

Given that this is only a couple months old, it may end up lightening a little more.  The details all held up, so it’ll be interesting to see if it fades to the skin tone while still being visible.  You can check out more of Kcir’s scarification work in the galleries.

“Please apply to the lead programmer job opening at BME”

Tattoo by Thorn Reinsmith from Mind’s Eye Tattoo in Emmaus, PA

BME has spent the last 3 years redeveloping its web presence from the ground up. Throughout the process there have been a lot of detours as well as the predictable bumps in the road. BME is looking for a lead programmer to integrate with our development group that has helped to program the new site. You will work with our current company to learn the new site as well as to help finish the deployment of all of BME’s 2.0 rebirth. After the development company has been phased out, you will be responsible for maintenance and changes to the existing site and software. You will also be responsible for programming new features, debugging and developing/programming new sites that will come with BME’s growth. As BME doesn’t have a “main office”, all of our staff work from home. This is a big bonus for most of us and has worked well over the past decade.

    Requirements:

    • Diligence and attention to detail.
    • Multi year senior level programming experience in python (as well as C/C++).
    • Core competencies in Python.
    • Excellent HTML/CSS/JS skills and an interest and awareness of emerging web standards.
    • Superb problem solving skills.
    • Good knowledge of SQL
    • Expected to maintain, enhance and install our custom application stack.
    • Expected to be able to manage the whole life cycle of product development including public facing and deployment.
    • Experience with linux based web architectures.
    • Experience in Java and .NET an advantage.
    • Experience of deploying and maintaing websites with Apache, Linux, and either Postgres or MySQL, and development with frameworks such as Django.
    • A real appreciation of clean, well-tested, well-documented code.

    Useful Experience:

    • SQL database management
    • Database administration
    • Linux administration

    Benefits:

    • Working in a mod friendly and positive environment.
    • Working in a small private company with international reputation in the Body Modification Community.
    • Exposure to some of the most exciting aspects of the industry.
    • You can work from home! This can be a part time job for extra income while you maintain a full time job as unfortunately, BME isn’t in a position to offer health care, 401k or other retirement benefits.
    • You won’t have to come into BME HQ but you will have a ticket to attend BME’s main events (BMEfest/ModProm etc)!
Please send your resume, availability and salary requirements to [email protected] with the subject line “Python Position Applicant”.
  • Clipping the tip

Back in December, one of the Guess What posts featured a type of nipple nullification that is a little different than what we’re used to seeing.  Nonippleboy is in the process of doing a DIY nipple removal, and in the first stage he removed just the tip.  Well it’s been a few months, so lets check back in and see how things are coming along.  But before that, here’s what his nipple looked like back in December.

A couple of days later a scab formed, which left the nipple looking like this.

And finally here’s how his chest looks today.

Now Nonippleboy’s goal is to have his areolas remain intact, but be completely smooth.  His right nipple was removed by tying off the tip with elastics and then cutting off the excess.  His left nipple was done by cutting off the skin, which is why the area is a little larger.  He hopes that the scar tissue will eventually darken, leaving him with a smooth chest.

You can see more of his progress in the nipple nullification gallery.

  • Blood and Hooks

The #Leeds suspension team from St. Petersburg, Russia is often featured because of their suspension photoshoots and performances.  While suspensions are a big part of what they do, they do have more than one trick up their sleeve.  In an effort to create their art, members of the team are sometimes asked to shed a little blood.

I’ve got one more photo from the shoot for you, but it has a smidgen of naughty bits, so you’ll have to keep reading to see it.

I’m sure some of that blood may be stage blood, but there’s no doubt that those hooks and rings generated their share of blood.

You can see more photos from this shoot in the #Leeds Suspension gallery.

  • Scarring upstream

Not so much upstream as it is up-arm.

This koi scar was done by Almog Shem Tov from Cyber Tattoo in Israel.
