A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Bleeding Skulls

Next up for today we’ve got a scar from the man with the plan himself, Richard Effin Ivey.  It’s a straight up cutting, but with the client being a body builder, that’s a pretty big scar.  Those of you who know Rich can get a good idea of the size just by comparing it to the size of his head.

  • Rabtattooille

Here’s what Jesse Smith had to say about this creation:

“He was lead to believe that he was helping. Unfortunately his eagerness to help will cost him his life.” This tattoo illustrates a day in the life of one of my soccer buddies who is a master chef at the infamous Shafer Court. It took me about 15 hours to complete.

I love how he’s captured three different emotions with each of the characters.  The rabbit’s stern look of determination is countered by the manic glee of the chef approaching from behind.  Of course, who can forget the poor carrot, he knows he’s done for.  The question now is, will it be the rabbit or the chef who finishes him off.

  • The Friday Follow-up

Today’s follow-up is only four months old, but it’s looking great right now so I figured it was due for a follow-up.  You might remember back a few months to this scarification by Brian Decker.

If you recall, Brian was tipped with 4 live lobsters for doing this piece.  The lobsters that Brian used for comparison are long gone, but the scar remains.  To see how it looks today, just keep on reading.

See what I mean about it looking great?  Hopefully we’ll get more healed photos as the scar turns white.  Keep an eye on Brian’s BME gallery for any updates.

  • Rest in Peace: Aloewishes

It’s with great sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of a member of our community.  Last night while cycling to a friend’s house, IAM: Aloewishes (Fredrick Kobrick) was struck and killed in a senseless hit and run.  All of us here at BME are saddened by the loss of Aloewishes and our thoughts are with the family and loved ones.

  • Hurry up Jax!

Jesse Smith from Loose Screw Tattoo has a real knack for creating tattoos that tell a story.  It helps that his personal style of art is one of Saturday morning cartoons on drugs.  This one in particular is the story of Jax, who was in such a hurry to get home, he didn’t notice when his wagon broke loose.

His original works are a great addition to the Comic and Cartoon Tattoo Gallery and we hope to see more from him in the future.
