My friend Sean Dowdell from Club Tattoo is holding a few dermal anchor seminars (click for a flyer), so let me share with you two gorgeous dermal anchor projects he’s done (the angel wings one I’ve actually posted before, but this is a much nicer photo). First, this Om is really something, in terms of really characterizing the level of “art” that these can bring to what’s traditionally more of a “craft”:
As is this metal angel… Hopefully Caitlin and I can make it out to see him at the Maritime Tattoo Festival in Halifax this May, which is one of his seminar destinations along with Baltimore, Mesa, Philly, and Long Beach.

Permanent Implanted Cock Ring

This implanted cock-ring is an experiment (click through for the explicit pictures) is being done by a BME/extreme reader from Germany who’s already played with lots of genital piercings and DIY tattooing. It’s a fantasy that I’ve been asked about numerous times over the last decade and a half, but have only seen a few times.
The intention is like the title says — a permanent, implanted cock ring. It’s a simple plastic ring, placed in true DIY style by simply cutting a hole in the skin at the base of the penis using a pair of scissors, forcing the ring into position, and stitching it up with a needle and thread.
At four weeks it’s doing just fine and appears solidly healed, although as I see it, sizing is a bit of an issue. On one hand, you don’t want to go too small with the ring because you risk a priapistic nightmare in which you have to cut the ring out to eliminate your painful erection, but on the other hand, if you go too loose, you’ve got something that’s more fantasy than function (although the fact that the ring is actually a C-shape helps).

My friend Klamerin from Bulgaria is giving eyelid piercing (gallery) — perhaps the second rarest form of piercing (cervix piercing being the rarest by my count) — a third try… It’s a beautiful piercing that boldly accents the soul’s window, but can definitely be an irritating one to wear!
