A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • “No Title” by Charles Bukowski

by Shawn at Shaman’s Den in Binghamton NY.

    all theories
    like clichés
    shot to hell,
    all these small faces
    looking up
    beautiful and believing;
    I wish to weep
    but sorrow is
    stupid.
    I wish to believe
    but belief is a
    graveyard.
we have narrowed it down to
    the butcherknife and the
    mockingbird.
    wish us
    luck.

  • “Sans Souci”

Not a bad slogan to live your life by!

  • Wicked ass, dude.

  • And now you know.

“Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.” (huh?)

  • Classy Broads get Tatties

Hey, remember the classy broad from a few entries back? Well, she’s got a friend, and she’s classy too. Welcome to IAM/BME, Thelma (and also to your friend Louise)! I love buddy tattoos!

  • Sure you are…

  • Depeche Mode Tattoo

As a point of trivia, the text (the sort of dot-matrix effect) was her first tattoo, and then Heidi Hay added the band caricatures later. I’m assuming that’s album art or something along those lines, but I definitely think this is better than most band tattoos I get (or maybe I’m just a sucker for cartoons).

  • Semper Fi Script Tattoo

This tattoo is by Mike Haines at Scarab Body Arts in Syracuse, and is one of the nicer “Semper Fi” themed tattoos I’ve received. He also has a mini-portfolio on BME that you can check out.

And you can never go wrong with a partially de-clothed Marine, right?

  • Bryan Adams Tattoo

Heh Hey, it’s not the song I’d have chosen personally to tattoo on my back, but good for her for at least getting the tune right… Db – Dbsus4 – Gb – Db… Most people are too sloppy to bother. Anyway, this is by Steve the Gypsy in Sheffield. I do not know if that’s gypsy as in Gypsy Cab or as in Gypsy Moth, of if he’s an actually a bonafide gypsy.

  • Intellectual vs. Punk

I know, I know, they’re often the same thing — especially if you’re talking about oldschool DIY punk rather than modern corporate marketting theme punk — but I thought that these two tattoos represented two good examples of very different ways of saying effectively the same thing.
