A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

Doesn’t it just feel like Germany has all the luck sometimes? Not to stereotype an entire nation, of course, but when some of your more notable exports include hearty beer, tasty sausages, efficient automobiles and, based on what we have the privilege of posting here, excellent tattoo artists, it’s hard not to be just a little jealous. This beautiful confluence of stippling and blackwork, for example, comes to us from Sonja at Amazon Tattoo in Oberhausen, Germany. See? Jealous.

Happy Monday, ModBloggers! Hope the weekend found you all well. Let’s begin our week with the lovely AmeliaDolore, who, for one reason or another, isn’t much of a talker, but hey, she’s got other good qualities. Like her taste in medical equipment, for example. And her choice in tongue-splitters. And yes, that’s a Bush reference in the title—wanna fight about it?

  • This Week in BME

And finally, folks, we conclude our broadcast week (and our summer of celebrity death) with this Roadhouse-inspired Patrick Swayze memorial tattoo by Emily at American Ink Tattoos in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She explains:

Roadhouse is a very important movie to my circle of friends (anyone who hasn’t seen the pop-up video commentary on this flick is seriously missing out on some quality drunken laughs), and when Swayze died I drew up this tattoo. It was something I had to do that day, and thankfully my good friend Tom was up for it. The thistle is a metaphor for Dalton, as we all know of his philosophical/cooler genius…

Fare thee well, Swayze. What else went on this week?

    Shark attack!

Brianna made her triumphant return to ModBlog.

Josh will seriously just straight up murder you.

The appropriately named Bluetat checked in from some mannequin graveyard. He seemed pretty happy about it.

    Balls!

Your editor is not up on his Spanish slang, apparently.

Thanks for hanging around, friends. Also! There may still be some goodies left for BME Shop’s 50%-off Kaos sale! Go take a look before it ends on Sunday at midnight. Other than that, we should be around tomorrow with a fun new interview, which is the sort of thing we can all get behind, right? Then, come Monday, we fire this sucker back up like normal. Until then, have fun, stay safe, and, of course, thank you for your continued support of BME.

  • Back On Course

Good afternoon, folks! Let’s kick off our day with this fun addition to our esteemed collection of hand and knuckle tattoos by Jeff Miller at Body Art Tattoos in Stratford, New Jersey. What can we say? We enjoy vaguely-antagonistic-but-good-humored-nonetheless tattoos. We hope this gentleman gets some good use out of his newly adorned knuckles.

And hey, it’s Friday, ModBloggers. Right in the face.

Comparatively speaking, head tattoos are a pretty low-risk investment, no? Sure, nobody’s happy with a shitty tattoo, but at least if there’s a screw-up atop your noggin, more often that not, nobody else has to know about it. With that said, though, we guess we’re just lucky that so many of the ones we receive are of the sort for which people should be proud to strut around clean-shaved—like this one, say, or these bad boys. Or, you know, the one above by Tattoo Joe at Physical Graffiti Tattoo in Bridgeport, Connecticut, which makes a fine addition to the canon, we think.
