A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Alone in the dark

Every time we see photos from The Sinner Team, there’s always a smiling dread-locked man somewhere in the background.  Well that man is Stanislav, the leader of the team, and guinea pig for some of their riskiest suspensions (like the free-fall suspension we saw a few months ago).

Today he’s somewhere in Russia, deep underground, setting up the rigging for what could possibly be a sensory deprivation suspension.  Hopefully we’ll see some photos of the suspension itself, but for now, here’s the handsome devil himself, in all his night-vision glory.

On a somewhat related note, Allen over at Suspension.org recently updated the suspension crew listings trimming out any broken links.  So if you’re looking for a crew in your area, be sure to check it out.

Now if you’re looking for a tattoo or piercing studio, BME411 is your one stop resource for finding the studios in your area.

  • The power of three

What’s better than three gorgeous women standing in a row?  How about three gorgeous women suspending on a spinning bar.

If you recognize the room, it’s because that’s the same room in Moscow The Sinner Team used for their last tandem suspension.

This particular suspension consisted of a 4pt elbow suspension, and two 2pt knee suspensions.  There are a lot more photos in the Sinner Team’s gallery, so just click on the picture above to check them out.

  • Go for the throat

If you’re thinking of suspending for your first time, it’s probably a good idea to avoid doing this type of suspension for your first time.

That right there is goatthroat0666 one of the members of the AGRO suspension group from Houston, TX.  Two weeks ago, AGRO hosted their 2011 Superpull event where this brave young man pulled off a 2 point throat, 1 point forehead suspension.

There’s one more photo to show you, so if you want to see him in the air, keep on reading.

I had to lighten the photo a bit in photoshop, but you can see just how intense this suspension was.

You can check out a larger version of both photos in the AGRO suspension group gallery.

  • It’s about that time again…

The 2011 Dallas Suspension Practitioners Convention just opened up it’s registration a bit over a week ago, and it’s filling up fast! If you are unaware of what it is exactly, or if you are interested in signing up, check out the official website.

The video below was made from footage from last years event and it really does a great job of capturing the spirit of the event and letting everyone know what it’s all about.

  • Hooks and Chains

With a flair for the dramatic, Arseniy always creates a striking image with his suspension performance pieces.  In this particular performance, SINtezz is about to be raised in a vertical chest suspension, with the intent to create an image reminiscent of an O-Kee-Pa ceremony.

You can check out the rest of the photos, including the ones taken while he was in the air, in the torso suspension gallery.

  • Lotus Inversion

When one thinks of a lotus suspension, the immediate image that comes to mind is that of meditation.  The position itself leads to the connection between suspension and personal meditation, really showing off the spiritual side of the suspension ritual.

Lately we’ve been seeing images from the Sinner Team that show them pushing the limits of suspension, with suicide suspensions 700ft in the air, triple tandem suspensions, or a 50 point lotus suspension.  Below you can see sometimes they just stick to the basics and work with someone not necessarily for show, but for the spiritual growth that can come from being in the air.  Or course, it is the Sinner Team, so a traditional lotus now becomes an inverted lotus.

Just like their other suspensions, this inverted lotus was well documented, and you can see all of the photos in the lotus suspension gallery.

If you’re having problems seeing all of the images, make sure that you’re logged into your BME account.  If you don’t have one, you can sign up today for a free subscription that will get you access to more photos in the galleries than if you’re browsing while not logged in.

  • Now that’s a happy birthday!

Well when you’re friends with the Sinner Team, and your birthday rolls around, you know you’re going to be in for something special.

That young man up there is Serge, and he just turned 28.  So, in honor of his birthday he got to have a superman suspension, Sinner Team style.

Keep reading to see what happened next.

Well, seeing as how this was Serge’s 28th birthday, the Sinner Team threw 28 hooks into him, and suspended him for 28 minutes.

Of course, no birthday is complete without a birthday cake, so with 28 candles all lit and ready to go, Serge got to make a wish.

There are a lot more photos from the suspension, and you can check them out in the superman suspension gallery.

  • Fifty? Yep!

So when they’re not suspending someone 700 feet in the air, the Moscow based Sinner Team likes to use their down time to participate in suspensions that you probably won’t need an air sickness bag to watch.  Of course, that doesn’t mean they’re going to make things simple.

For a recent lotus suspension, the team used 50 hooks to bring one of their members up in the air.

As you can see above, this isn’t going to be a normal lotus suspension by any stretch of the imagination.  Keep on reading to check out just a sampling of the photos from the day.

From this view, you can see just how the rigging was set up.  Using 50 8 gauge hooks tied off to a custom built frame, they set about rigging up this complex suspension.

Of course, once in the air minor adjustments needed to be made, which is a common occurrence for most suspensions.  Of course, with 50 points to work with, that was a lot of adjustments.

Finally up in the air, you can see just how incredible of an experience this must have been for him.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to photos from this suspension.  All told there are almost 40 shots documenting the entire process from the initial hooks being thrown to the time they are removed.  Head on over to the lotus suspension gallery to see the rest of them.

  • Wire Work

It’s only going to be a matter of time before Hollywood stunt coordinators come up with a way to include a fight scene between two people suspending from hooks.  Thanks to Arseniy and the rest of the #Leeds Suspension team we’re one step closer to that.

In a scene that looks like it was ripped from one of the Resident Evil films, Luba is up in what Arseniy is calling a 7 point “Elis” suspension.  The rest of the photos are in the suspension galleries, and they’ll give you a couple of different angles to check out.

  • He’s Home

Earlier this week we got news that Arwen “Spliff” Rosa, one of the four members of the community that was injured in a car wreck back in July was in need of help.  Well with the help of ModBlog readers Arwen is on his way back home from Texas today.

A big thank you to everyone who was able to donate to bringing him home to his family.  As jaded as we can be sometimes, it is good to see that when someone is in need, the community can come together to help them out.
