You might recall when we last posted the Russian Sinner Suspension team, we certainly do. They’ve gone and sent us more images of couples suspending and they’ve let us know we don’t need to send them spanish fly in order to get more photos like these.

And finally, fair ModBloggers, let’s end on this single-point forearm suspension courtesy of Brian Wood at Liberty Tattoo Company in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who last submitted this handsome scarification piece. We suspect this was not a particularly lengthy suspension, but hey, this gentleman stayed up long enough to get a picture off at least, potentially impending arm-related doom notwithstanding. And while you all go off to bed, just remember that there are folks out there risking life and limb not just for their edification, but for yours, too.

Hey, would you look at that? Another day, another picture too good for which to not offer an embiggening click-through. This glorious shot is courtesy of Hangman Suspensions (the Hawaii- and Oregon-based one, that is, not to be confused with Pete Sheringham‘s Hanged Man Team in Melbourne, Australia), from their end-of-summer suspension convention held recently at Cape Kiwanda on the Oregon coast. The Sinner Team is for lovers! God, these kids and their adorable suspension photos, right? The last time we checked in with these folks, Anna was hanging from Stanislav, and there were many awws. This time around, this group of longhairs is being just as cute, except now it’s Pavel and Kate giving each other the lovers’ stare while some folks mill around in the back. We liked this photo so much, we decided it deserved a click-through, so enjoy a higher-res shot as well. As for The Sinner Team, we don’t know how many more couples you count among your ranks, but we are very ready to send some Spanish Fly up Russia way if it means more pictures like this. Just a thought, you know?

One of our favorite sets of suspension photos that we’ve come across in the past belong to Nacho, who can be seen here, in all his white-striped glory. Well, good news! Nacho is back, as you can see above, just having a mid-air sit-down, possibly as a posture-healthy alternative to you typical office chair? Either way, he’s in the very capable hands of local sensation La Negra, and under the very capable photographic purview of Martin Del Pozo and his friend, Marco. The last time we featured Russia’s The Sinner Team on these here ModBlogs, a pretty good discussion broke out about safety in suspension, seeing as they were getting up pretty, pretty high. This time around, they’ve shared another pretty impressive and rather ambitious suspension, as you can see!
That’s me (Stanislav Axyonov, the leader of The Sinner Team suspension crew) and my girlfrend, Anna, doing our second tandem suspension together. The first was more casual, which can be seen here—sorry for bad quality. There was a risk of tearing my knees of course, but everything was fine. We were the first in Russia to perform this kind of suspension, so it was pretty fun for us to know we were going to do something “new.”

Hot on the heels of this frame-worthy post from the good folks with Berlin, Germany’s Superfly Suspension, we’re quite pleased to publish yet another particularly striking shot from the crew. Sadly, we don’t have any other pictures to determine what the two hooks in this gentleman’s back are attached to, but if we were to hazard a guess, hmm, mistletoe? We’re going to say mistletoe.

And here, courtesy of the fine folks involved with Berlin, Germany’s Superfly Suspension crew, we have a suspension so nice you just want to hang it on your wall—which, um, was kind of the idea, apparently. This may have been done before (likely by the Superfly team themselves?), but we applaud a clever and well-executed take on suspension like this—one that’s a little more performance art than straight spectacle (not that there’s anything wrong with either, of course).

Absolutely terrible news to report here. This is reprinted from Allen Falkner:
I’m sad to report that a fire, this last weekend, destroyed Håvve Fjell’s Fakir School. At this point I do not have much information, but I have received this link and the following message from Havve and was asked to pass it along:
*********************** http://www.vg.no/nyheter/innenriks/artikkel.php?artid=557199 We’re all fine, nobody got hurt. Our school is destroyed and I don’t know how much of our stuff we’ll be able to save. I just got back from Essen tonight, the fire happened Saturday night at the beginning of a party. We don’t know the cause, the police report will hopefully be released to us tomorrow.
I’m completely perplex about the situation and don’t know how I’m supposed to handle the consequences. I have no insurance and I fearing liability claims from the owner of the building. We have 3 shows coming up this weekend and a fully booked season ahead and most of our costumes and props are ashes…
I’ll know more tomorrow.
*********************** For those of you that do not know Havve, or his group Pain Solution, he has been a member of our community for many years and has been instrumental in bringing body modification to the general public through performance, teaching, lectures and by helping organize numerous events, most notably the Oslo Suscon.
Håvve and his team have been some of the most generous, welcoming and, of course, talented people we’ve come across in this community, and this is just devastating. We’ll keep you all up to date on how this proceeds and what people can do to help, when the time comes.

If there’s one thing for which Chris Glunt is good (and there is, of course, more than one thing!), it’s having the vision necessary to pull off some incredibly beautiful and difficult suspensions. It was earlier this year that he suspended for six hours, and there’s no shortage of other impressive efforts in his repertoire. This time around, he, Josh and BBB headed to an abandoned gold mine:
[It] had some pretty breathtaking views to do a few suspensions. It was a four-and-a-half-mile uphill hike to get to the mine, but it was definitely worth it. Once we arrived, we took a good look around and began to rig. Fortunately, the place was very well-suited for suspensions, thanks to a large metal I-beam structure left behind from the gold mining days. Once we got it all worked out, we made our way into the mine to do the piercings. Piercing a mile or so inside the earth was an interesting experience and definitely added to the experience as a whole. Once we made our way in pretty far and found a nice spot that wasn’t wet, we set up an impromptu piercing area near one of the caved-in tunnels. Piercing with only the help of a few dim flashlights and nothing to mark with made it even more intense. Once we were finished we made our way out of the mountain and lifted Triple-B up and onto the rig facing the sheer couple hundred-foot drop. The added anxiety from thinking you could die any moment overlooking that drop off surely heightened the suspension.
