Thanks to IAM:andshewas for her sweet exhibitionism. The circles on her belly by the way are by Lukas Zpira and about a year old in this photo (and look like they’ve healed quite nicely).

“In ten minutes you’ll be smoking in hell!”

My favorite thing about this sex photo (ok, my second favorite) is that they appear to be watching an old Clint Eastwood spaghetti western while going at it!

That definitely hurt a lot.

Evildustin seems to have just had his face entirely branded by John Kid at the Piercing Lounge in Madison. He says it wasn’t so bad, but I’m guessing he’s got a killer high pain threshhold, a hyfrecator is brutal in my opinion… Anyway, he’s new to IAM — go say hello!

Heart Brand
Written by
Speaking of branding (that’s where I was today), I like this nice simple piece (well healed in this photo) by Muffe Vulnuz of CHBE in Copenhagen. While some of the scar work that’s coming out these days is truly stunning (see the entry below this!) and often quite complex, I think these simple brands are closest to my heart personally. No pun intended!

Wayde Dunn = Scalpel King
Written by
I just keep getting more and more impressed by the scar work I’m seeing from Wayde at Puncture in Maroochydore, Qld, Australia. It’s really stunning stuff. Check out this Mayan king design he did — in these photos it’s about four months old and keloiding beautifully.

Ear vs. Tyson

When I posted the fresh shot of the ear reshaping by Muffe, I was asked what it would look like healed… So… Here you go! Coupled with that intense ‘X’ scar on the side of his head, I really like the way it looks.

Kanji Skin Removal
Written by
I don’t know what the kanji says or if it’s correct (we’ll have to ask Tian I suppose), but I like the little memento of the procedure — although it’s too bad it didn’t stay in a more coherent piece. Cutting by Fernand from Tattoo Blitzz in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Blast From The Past
Written by
I was cleaning up the BME “officies” today and found an old CD of pictures from back in 1997 when I was living in Philadelphia. The first photo is of Steve Haworth doing a cautery brand on my friend Dustin (at Infinite) — I love how you can see the smoke just billowing up from the tool!
This next picture is actually me… I’d had forehead implants done and they ended up crooked, so my roommate at the time (Jon Cobb, one of the most brilliant and influential piercers of all time in my opinion) did his best to straighten in (we created a second channel and tried to shift it). Ultimately we still removed it, but these are some of my favorite pictures of myself:

More from The Pain Parlor

I should probably cut back on my daily dose of Shawn O’Hare, but I thought that this cautery brand was interesting not so much because of the design (I assume it’s intended to look like a wound), but because they’ve actually had the balls to extend it across his eyelids…
