    Enjoy your weekend folks.  Sending you off is a submission from LeoDeFeo.  No information was provided about artists but we can just enjoy the view, can’t we?BME

    I’m trying something new.  I’m calling it Photo of the Day.  I’m going to pick 1 photo from the BME submissions and highlight it here on ModBlog as the photo of the day.  This is not something I’m going to do every day and how often I do it is really going to depend on the quality of the photos submitted.  Please note that I said quality of the photo.  Think back to the old BME covers, if you’ve been around as long as I have, and you’ll probably get my meaning.  If I post your photo as the photo of the day I will reward you with extra BME access!  You can still submit to BME anonymously.  If you do that and your photo is featured just email me, [email protected], and let me know that was you and I’ll go in and credit your account.  The more information you provide with your submissions the better!   Allons-y!

    Here’s a chest piece inspired by a song.  The song in particular is “A Light So Dim” by Black Heart Procession, and artist Jason Tyler Grace did a great job capturing the essence of the song into this tattoo.

    Sent in by Wallacetype, who got this tattoo while Jason was doing a guest spot at Three Kings Tattoo in Brooklyn.

    Quick, someone save Meizy, she’s being attacked by an octopus!  Oh wait, that octopus isn’t attacking her.  It’s actually a photo from Julian Murray’s new book Tattoos and Tentacles.  I heard about the book a few months back, however the bookstore up here didn’t have a copy.  The holidays are coming up if anyone is feeling generous.*

    Nick Whybrow is one of the many talented artists at Self Sacrifice in London.  Recently he packed up his bags and has gone on an extended vacation to spend some time with his loved ones in the southern hemisphere.  Before he left he did have time to do this one final tattoo at Self Sacrifice.

    Don’t fret, Nick will be back eventually, and while he’s on the road he’s still going to be working and sending in his newest creations.

    When I first glanced at this tattoo by Nick Whybrow, I thought it was a simple “See no evil” tattoo.  Yet after taking a closer look, I saw that it represents all three.  Not only are the eyes covered and bleeding, but her ears are also filled with blood and her lips are sewn shut.

    Nick works at Self Sacrifice in London, England.

    It is said that Joseph Stalin ruled Russia with an Iron Fist.  So who better than Stalin to represent one of the favorite activities of the notorious Jersey.

    And in case the placement seems odd to you, here’s where it’s located.

    As anyone who has been to an East Coast BME event can attest, if there’s fisting going down, Jersey is sure to be involved in some way, shape, or form.
