A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Fall Feathers

Can you believe we’re only a week away from the start of autumn?  Pretty soon the leaves will be changing colours, the birds will be flying south, and the temperatures will start to drop.  Now I’m one of those that loves this time of year, especially the leaves.  You don’t see much of it in a big city, but outside, where the trees abound, the display that mother nature puts on every year is amazing.  Which brings us to this tattoo by Grzegorz Latoch from Street Tattoo in Warsaw.  It’s a nice rich blend of colours that subtly evokes the arrival of fall.

  • Spring, Fall

This work in progress by Jackie Rabbit is eventually going to be an entire season themed piece.  At the time of the photos, the spring tree had been finished for a while, and the fall tree is still fresh.

Here’s a better look at the fall side.

  • Laying down roots

I’ve got a couple of pieces from Sonja to share with you today.  Sonja’s distinctive dotwork style consistently results in amazing artwork.  Up until now we’ve mostly seen her art in geometric form.  Well to start things off here’s something a little more organic.

  • On Golden Pond

Here’s another Jackie Rabbit piece to kick off your Wednesday morning.  What I like most about this is that it isn’t a “standard” koi piece.  Instead of the koi being front and center as the primary focus, Jackie has made it part of an elegant scene.  The ripples flowing outward across the pond are a fantastic touch, as is the large negative space on the left side.  The whole design has a flow to it that defies the asymmetrical nature of the image and her color selection is fantastic.  If you’re ever in the Roanoke, VA neighbourhood, stop in and visit Jackie at Star City Tattoo, from what she’s sent into the galleries, you won’t be disappointed.

  • A Delicate Balance

There’s something so serene about rock balancing.  The patience and the skill to take stones that at first glance you’d never think could be arranged as a structure, and to make them not only stand upright, but also able to balance other stones.  Now take that activity, and add it to the BC coastal mountains, and you have what could possibly be one of the best ways to become one with nature.

Rollingsculptor is the fellow you see below walking away from his latest balancing act.

Oh and the tattoos on his back and arms are by Rob Hope from Dutchman in Vancouver, BC

  • Make Like a Tree and Get Outta Here

This lovely backpiece comes to us from Ioreth, who spent days hours sitting for Batoon at Azazel Studio in Milanówek, Poland, to bring this to fruition. Are those wolf eyes underneath? Some sort of tree marsupial? Perhaps a vampire? Some mysteries aren’t meant to be solved.
