A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • “And then she showed me the back room where she took all of her clothes off. “

The first time is always so magical, like when Johnny Depp and Tim Burton teamed up for the first time with Edward Scissorhands. It was the film that took Johnny from being a teen heartthrob, to the quirky actor we know today.

And they’re like, “I drink it all up”!

    p.s. I know it’s the wrong movie.

  • Don’t go that way. Never go that way.

    Did you say “Hello”?

No I said ‘Allo, but close enough.

From this little worm to David Bowie’s codpiece, Labyrinth is a fantastic film filled with amazing images that are just ripe for tattoo material.  Jay Wheeler from Eternal in Detroit put together this piece of the worm and one of the door knockers.

  • Never expose it to bright light, never get it wet, and never, ever, feed it after midnight.

No words can express the joy I have at seeing this tattoo. Wang from Tattoo Temple in Hong Kong really knocked it out of the park with this one.

  • Nerdgasm

Lolben knocks it out of the park with his combination Zelda/Dark Crystal torso.  Not only is this probably one of the biggest geek pieces I’ve seen, but it’s also really well done.  Hats off to Aaron Cooper from Staircase Tattoo in Santa Cruz, CA for this epic masterpiece.

  • Derezzed

First, I hope that everyone on the east coast is safe and secure after that shake-up that just hit Richmond.  I know a lot of IAM members live in the area close to the epicenter, including Rachel at BMEHQ.

Now then, as his name implies, Joeltron is a big fan of Tron.  How big you ask?  Well take a look at this Tron Recognizer tattoo on the side of his skull.

Naith from Absolution in New Zealand did this while at a guest spot in Sydney at First Blood.

  • Where’d you get those eyes?

Jeepers Creepers is one of those unsung monster movies.  With all the big name movie killers out there, it’s hard to make a name for yourself when your claim to fame is taking body parts and making them your own.  The Creeper does have one thing going for him, he does look pretty badass in tattoo form.

  • A Prayer for a Droid

Here’s something nice and nerdy to round out today.  Ross Turpin from Star Crossed Tattoo in Hong Kong created this image of C-3PO’s hands paying.  Now my Star Wars-fu isn’t always up to par, but I don’t recall anyone actually praying to the force.  Maybe Droids have their own religion, with Asimov’s laws serving as their commandments.

  • Bare bones

No surgical masks.  No fake blood. It’s just Evil_Emil on his own as today’s BMEBoy.

  • There’s no place like home

Dorothy was always going on about Kansas.  How much she loved living on a farm with a lovable cast of characters.  That was a long time ago.  Nowadays I think she’d rather click her heels together and wish to go to Roanoke, VA, to visit Roger at Star City Tattoo.
