A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Curling up with Misty

We’ve seen Misty on ModBlog a couple of times.  Whether it’s the scars she has, the ones she’s done, or her suspensions, ModBlog is always proud to show her off.  I had the pleasure of meeting her a few months back, and she’s just an incredible person inside and out.  Members of the suspension community know her from Hooklife, the Suspension.org equivalent of ModBlog, where she manages to keep her finger on the pulse of the suspension community.  In the past she’s helped me out with a couple of suspension related stories, and I can’t thank her enough for what she’s done.  Recently Big Mike from Hooked Suspension wrote a guest article on Misty, sharing his thoughts about this wonderful person.  Here’s a bit of what Mike had to say…

From an outsiders prospective it’s easy to see how busy she is and how hard it must be for her to keep up. She fills her days as a body piercer and from what I’ve seen an outstanding scarification artist at Southtown Tattoo & Body Piercing in Fort Smith Arkansas. She is also plays a major role in the running of her suspension team, Hanging City Suspensions. Theirs is one of the most friendly groups I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with and anybody else who has had the experience I’m sure would say the same. They did an amazing suspension show at the Freaks & Fetish, Dallas SusCon opening party that had Misty herself suspending TWICE in the same evening. It was beautiful and amazing to watch. I also had the pleasure to work with her team frequently throughout SusCon weekend and these guys are great at what they do and seem willing to always keep learning new things.

And here’s Misty at her most recent suspension with Hanging City Suspensions

She looks so serene, embraced by nature, not burdened by anything, including gravity.

  • Bright ideas

According to Marissa, this will probably be the last time anyone sees this design.  This is one of those great examples of just how personal a tattoo can be.  We’ve all had moments where some stranger has asked us “what does that mean?”, hell it happened last night to me with a particularly nosy waiter.  For Marissa, she knows that the tattoo is there, she knows what it looks like, and what it means to her.  Which is all that should matter.

  • In memory of Scarlette Adora

This post is going to be tough for me to write.  Just over a year ago two very close friends of mine lost their twin daughters within a few hours of their birth.  The pain and devastation they went through afterwards was horrible.  The loss of a child, especially an infant, is utterly tragic and I would never wish that kind of hurt upon anyone.  Sadly, their loss is shared by many more parents around the world, including members of our own community.

About a month ago, IAM: Miss3uggie and her husband Troy lost their 5 1/2 month old daughter, Scarlette Adora, to SIDS.  2 days after getting the final autopsy report, Troy and Bug went to visit Kerri Kiple from Rendezvous Tattoo & Body Piercing in Marquette, MI where she gave him his first tattoo, a portrait of Scarlette.  With the memory still fresh, Kerri was able to give Troy a small amount of closure.  This is a wound that probably will never heal, and anything that will help Troy and Bug at this time in their lives is greatly appreciated.  Kerri did a wonderful job capturing the joy that Scarlette was able to bring to this world in her brief time with us.

Scarlette was taken way too soon from this world, however her memory will always be kept alive by those who loved her.  A group of IAM moms put together a facebook page as a memorial for Scarlette, which you can find right here.

EvanxBurke has been featured here a few times before, most notably for his stunning eyes.  Today we’re traveling a little south to check out his new chest piece, by Jim Warf from Rogue Elephant in Moreno Valley, CA.

Oh, and the cutting on his chest is by Wes from Electric Chair in Riverside, CA.

  • Blå & Black

He’s looking at something.  What it is, we don’t know.  So we look at him instead.  He’s Simon°, and he’s today’s BMEBoy.
