A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Spirit+Flesh UK Tour

I just talked to Fakir Musafar earlier today and he mentioned that there are still some spots left in the UK dates of his Spirit+Flesh workshops and rituals next month (more here). You may recall he wrote about it in his column as well — the photo below is from that same mountain, of Grin from Chicago.

This tour will be the first time he’s toured the UK in over a decade. You can contact him via fakirtour.com which has all the details, or via his main site at fakir.org. Fakir is presenting and facilitating ritual in a way that perhaps offers different insights and experiences than the majority of suspension and ritual paths in the Western world… If this is what you’re looking for, there is no one more experienced.

In order of appearance: Allana enjoying her first time in the clouds, Sandra taking us into the mid-session interval, Mike (who shared hook throwing duties with Michelle) with his “so close” one knee suspension whilst skewering his cheeks and last but not least, Dave!

The protagonists are – Ken (clinging onto Capt. Stupid Head for dear life), Jessica, Michelle (not on IAM, yet), and of course Meme Chris!

All suspensions aided and abetted by the iWasCured crew – Shell, Jon, Phil and Mikey.

And of course, as always, the suspension space was donated by Badur, a.k.a. Hot Stuff.

Excuse all the links, it couldn’t be helped.

  • What are you doing for Solstice?

If you’re in the Toronto area, be sure to click through for more information on the Toronto Winter Swimming Club (which has lots of members from BME) — we’re going out for a solstice swim today (and swim regularly in the winter water if you can’t come today). Come along, it’s fun!

Anyway, I’m taking a break until the New Year. I hope everyone enjoyed 2006, and thank you all for the support and photos, stories, and help.

Photoshop disclaimer: I edited a photographer out of the photo. You can see the original in The Hanged Man gallery on BME. Thanks to Pete for the photo from their recent event down in Melbourne, Australia.
