A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • GET TO DA CHOPPA!

I was hoping to save that headline for a picture of a helicopter tattoo, but I suppose a Predator tattoo will work just as well.

We’ve seen portraits by Zoran a couple of times before.  Most notably his Che and Joker portraits.

While this doesn’t seem to be taken from a still in any of the films, it does resemble the mask from some of the comic books.  As you’ve probably already guessed, this particular portrait came from the sci-fi tattoo gallery.

  • Na na na na na na…

    BATMAN!!

This awesome retro-batmobile is just one of a number of tattoos that Alie K sent in to her BME portfolio gallery.

  • Little Yellow Boxes

The world would be a much better place if everyone was able to express their own inner monologue via little yellow boxes.  Alas, that can’t happen, so we all have to live vicariously through the merc with the mouth, Deadpool.  In the 2009 Deadpool one-shot “Games of Death” our hero traveled to a mysterious island to participate in a deadly reality TV game show.  In addition to giving the fans a fun little tale, it also provided them with a fantastic cover by Greg Land.

One of those fans is Exiled_Sun who is an apprentice at Nautica Tattoo Studio in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland.  One of the resident artists at Nautica, Albert Connor was nice enough to give Michael a recreation of the cover art.  You can check out more photos of the piece in the cartoon and comic tattoo gallery.

  • Telling a story

In today’s final comic book tattoo post, we’ve got a full sleeve by Aldona Szery.  Now my comic-fu isn’t the best, so I’m not sure if this is from any particular comic (although I’m getting a distince Image comics vibe), she does manage to blend together multiple panels from a comic to tell a story.

I’ve made the image a clickthrough so you can see the full sized image, as it wouldn’t fit in the margins on ModBlog.

Also, a quick announcement, sometime next week BMEzine.com and all of the sites attached (including IAM) will be going down for 18-24 hours as we’ll be doing some server wide upgrades.  Keep an eye on ModBlog as we’ll let you know when we have the specific time frame of the downtime.

  • How about a magic trick?

Ok, so this isn’t Heath Leger’s version of The Joker, but Aldona Szery’s recreation of a comic book panel is pretty cool.

For the life of me I can’t figure out the original artist of the panel, so if there are any Batman fans out there, please feel free to enlighten us.
