A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • 50mm to 0mm scalpelling

Hey, you went the wrong direction! 😉 This now-you-see-me-now-you-don’t earlobe reconstruction was done by Felipe Silva of Crew Tattoo in Iquique, Chile.

  • Dollywood

What, modified people can’t be Dolly fans? Dallas is pretty thrilled about this photo! And remember Dolly’s advice: “Find out who you are and do it on purpose, [and] if you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” Seems appropriate enough to me.

  • Girls will be BEgirls

There are lots more shots of Vampy in the BEgirls gallery that she hosts on BME/HARD, but with my love of mixing the URL into the photo, I couldn’t resist this one.

  • Holy Moley.

Urea and his friends get more intense all the time…. This customer (who’s had his first set for I believe over two years now) has six subclavical piercings (last featured here with four of them)… Very extreme — even though I’ve now seen lots of people get and keep them, I don’t think I could ever work up the courage to do it myself… Past my peronal danger line (and remember, I’m the guy who’s tattooing his eyeballs). I really love that Urea is using his arm with those huge implants as a “signature” in photos — it reminds me of Maori chiefs who signed contracts by drawing out their mokos.

  • Chest Microdermal Jewelry

James Wisniewski (Body Electric, Hollwood CA) did this 6mm titanium prong faced CZ microdermal recently… I think I remember someone commenting on how microdermals were interesting to them because they opened up a whole lot of body decorating options that were not available before except through procedures arguably in the “[very] minor surgery” category rather than “piercing” category like microdermals are. I suppose this helps illustrate that notion.

  • Lung surgery?

Not that Dustin Robbins of Iris Piercing in Salt Lake City, Utah didn’t do a very nice nipple placement on this customer, but I am soooo into the scar. I know on some levels it’s wrong to fetishize things like that, because it’s essentially getting off on someone else’s pain, but I really think that it’s very difficult to express beauty without putting it into context, and that’s what life scars (versus chosen scars) give a person I think…

  • Patrick’s Implant and Piercings

Patrick from Denmark has some of the most intense facial mods — tons of piercings, transdermals, and subdermals — of anyone I know, and it’s been fascinating, because he’s been a BME contributor now for quite some time, I’ve been watching it evolve, get sort of chaotic and off balance for a while (sorry), and now come back into focus in what I think is becoming a really mature and great looking set of mods.

  • Plenty of places to hitch a rope to…

Raze had this shot taken by Outlaw Posters Ink (which sells posters and prints, including this photo), with the work being done by Sean Dowdell, Burni Elis, and Matthew Martyr at Club Tattoo in Tempe, AZ.

PS. Attaching rope to surface work with any force is a bad idea so don’t think I’m seriously suggesting that!

  • I thought it was a urethral reroute!

…but it turns out that Wizzer, Squ3z, and Tyler (Anomaly Studios, Pasadena CA) have done the world’s first guiche microdermal. Well, I suppose if you want to test the durability and survivability of this procedure (more), this is a good way to do it.

  • I’m dreaming of a White Christmas

No, not the fourteen words kind, the innocent kind where we all get to play in the snow color-independent and clothing optional. Thanks to Astrosnik for sending in this shot of her braving the first snow on her balcony (and hard nipples bearing 10ga piercings by Chuck at Lucky Devil in Seattle, WA).
