A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Hulk Hogan Tattoo

Is it just me, or does this in-progress tattoo of Hulk Hogan look absolutely terrified?

  • Outdoor suspension

Thanks to IAM:dragon for these suspension photos. Most suspension goes on in an urban environment, so I really like seeing these outdoor suspensions in really natural environments. Perhaps it’s my own prejudices speaking having grown up in the country, but I feel like the sense of peace that’s inherent in places that look like this must positively affect the suspension.

  • Jigsaw Partners

    Warning: adult pictures!
I’d say this is definitely a couple that matches well.

  • 4815162342 Tattoo

“Guys, where are we?” … If you know what this tattoo is all about, you may watch too much TV, but at least you watch good TV. Tattoo self-done in grey ink by Julie in Leic, UK.

  • Cheap copy, emphasis on “cheap”

The tattoo on the left is an original custom tattoo (based on traditional tattoo iconography) on Asurfael. A little while after she submitted it the cheap copy on the right appeared. You know, it’s one thing if you have a high quality copy, but a crappy copy is kind of degrading.

  • Tattoo WMD

I was thinking about how popular biohazard symbol tattoos are in this community (1, 2, 3, 4). I assume that’s because biological contamination is especially important and life threatening to people involved in invasive body art, more so than it just being some sort of badass symbol…? Anyway, when I got sent the tattoo pictured in this entry (by Nick Whybrow at Tattoo Inc in Colchester UK) I was reminded how rare nuclear symbol tattoos are — I think in almost eleven years of running BME I have received only two, whereas I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of biohazard images. I have seen nuclear subs and nuclear families and even the Springfield nuclear plant, but the symbol itself, hardly ever…

PS. Got one and want to prove me wrong? Submit it at [email protected]!

  • Copyleft Tattoo

Since I’ve written regularly with a largely pro-copyright stance here (Britney Tattoo, King of Kings, Pop Culture, Heart/Source, more), I thought it would be fair to post this tattoo illustrating that there are certainly people who presumably disagree. This is on IAM:beauwulf and was done by Mike Richards of Pair-O-Dice Tattoo in my home town of Victoria, BC.

Oh, and if you have no idea what that is, it’s a Copyleft logo.

  • Phuket, BME/HARD style

OK, it’s not really the same thing, but it’s the best I could come up with on short notice. Click to zoom and uncensor, if you really think that’s a good idea.

  • Phuket Vegetarian Festival Photos

IAM:arco had a chance to head up to Phuket Thailand last month for the vegetarian festival (which involves, among other things, devotees having extremely large temporary piercings done in their cheeks into which elements of their lives are inserted). He’s written a little more about it on his page, and there is a full and growing gallery on BME as well.

Here are an assortment of some of my favorite pictures from the ones he took:

  • You really need a Monday morning post?

Yeah, well, it’s a busy day for me. I have one thing to say to you, and I’ll say it using a tattoo by Erica Scott of River City Tattoo in Austin, Texas c/o IAM:DustGorrilla.

Seriously though, check back tonight because I have some cool stuff to post, I just don’t have time this morning — gotta catch a plane!
