A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Shannon = Bad Man

OK, I really like this picture in terms of a piece of art (thanks to Steve Truitt and Ascension) that captures the serenity of suspension… but the uncontrollably masculine part of me can’t help but me titilated at the realization that I can see down (up?) her undergarment. Seriously, I ought to be ashamed of myself. This is why I’m not a piercer — I have the complete inability to maintain professional distance.

    Surface piercing and nipple bars…

  • Bariloche Travel Photos

When I got these pictures from hETA* in Argentina, they were not initially labeled with a location so I wasn’t a hundred percent sure where they were from. I actually thought they might have been taken in Western Canada. Turns out they’re from Bariloche, a beautiful part of Patagonia… I keep meaning to go down to the Patagonia Tattoo Convention, but haven’t made it yet…

  • More pretty outdoor suspensions

I post outdoor suspension pictures all the time (here’s one for example from back in November), but I liked these ones a lot (I’m a sucker for romance I guess, even though I try and play the sleaze here). They’re from Exiting Body in France (I like the back tattoo as well).

  • Travel Photos: La Paz, Bolivia

OK, it’s not really “travel” because my friends Keruganja and xcecixpuentex from CSC Tattoo Shop are from Bolivia… but I like pretending that I’m on vacation when I get their photos. That said, don’t ask me what’s up with their white alpaca, I have no explanation for you.

  • Butt Play Piercing

Normally when I say that, it’s in the BME/HARD context of play piercings inside and around the anus… Here I mean it more literally… Thanks to Shawn O’Hare, the Pastor of Pain at the Pain Parlor in Oxnard, CA for yet another picture featured on ModBlog. For the record books, his girlfriend took it 101 times in the butt. Er, that came out wrong.

My old friend Olivia (who you may know as IAM:Athena) is currently traveling in Tanzania and spent the weekend with the Maasai. She’s been documenting her trip at oliviaminer.blogspot.com — check it out:

While I was taking a picture of my mom receiving the bracelet a young girl, maybe 10 years old, touched the tattoo on my ear. As she did, she noticed my earring and got a very curious look on her face. She flipped it around and saw that I did, indeed, have a large hole in my earlobe. I smiled at her and took my earring out, and she squealed! She yelled at the others and they all turned toward me, amazed. I took out my other earring and everyone started chattering loudly. John explained to them that I had been fascinated with Maasai culture since childhood, and that meeting them was a very special occasion for me. Mama Paolos daughter, whose name I didnt catch, lifted her hands up as if to say WAIT! and ran into the house.

She emerged moments later with earrings for me, and slipped them onto my ears. The women clapped, the men laughed and smiled, the children all watched in amazement. I think right then and there I floated up off the earth. The women said I was now a mzungu Maasai, or white Maasai. I dont think Ive made it back onto solid ground yet. As I write this Im still blown away by what an incredible day it was.

  • Traditional North African Tattoos?

Check out this neat photo from Christine at Utility Company in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). I don’t know the story behind the photo, but I really love the mix of traditional tattoos, traditional piercings, and modern piercings on top of that.

  • With full release!

Mostly I just thought these were really funny pictures if you took them out of context, primarily due to his (and I guess her) facial expression… It looks like good pain he’s feeling, not bad pain! Thanks to Nico for sending them (and click here to see what’s really going on).
