A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

Hey, what’s that old saying again? The couple that corsets together stays together? Something like that? No? Well, at any rate, here’s another offering from SweetNausea, whose helium-induced set we featured here earlier in the week. This time around, however, we’ve got Adriaan and Shafs with piercings, yet again, by Lliezel Ellick at Wildfire Piercing in Cape Town, South Africa, and similarly photographed by Clare Foxcroft Williams.

  • Their Mandible Tongues

Good morning, ModBloggers! Let’s kick off hump day with noted sausage-holder Alex, who has eschewed ear meats today in favor of some tasteful black-and-white photography by Jean-Michel Clajot. We like most everything about this shot, but the blurry effect on his upper-arm tattoo is particularly interesting (and maybe even a little creepy), I thought. No? We’re wrong? Whatever.

Welcome back to the BME Film Club! A few months back, we had the privilege of showing you these ultra exclusive behind-the-scenes pictures from, whatsitcalled, Twilight, and now, straight from the feel-good hit of the early fall, it is Kevin and Siobhan on the set of your favorite Zombieland film in these pictures courtesy of Red Line Photos! Or, you know, they were at the 2009 Philly Zombie Prom. Either way. There’s another one after the jump—you be the judge.

  • As We Two Are One

And finally, fair ModBloggers, let’s end on this single-point forearm suspension courtesy of Brian Wood at Liberty Tattoo Company in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who last submitted this handsome scarification piece. We suspect this was not a particularly lengthy suspension, but hey, this gentleman stayed up long enough to get a picture off at least, potentially impending arm-related doom notwithstanding. And while you all go off to bed, just remember that there are folks out there risking life and limb not just for their edification, but for yours, too.

    Until tomorrow, folks.

We’re admittedly curious about the reaction you folks may have here. After we posted photos of Tye’s new knuckle tattoos, the old conversation about whether there’s a certain hierarchy of visible/”extreme” modification work that should be adhered to crept back up. (Tye, of course, has his ears pointed and a not insignificant amount of tattoo work, though we will admit these modifications were not perfectly visible in the attached photos.) Our Russian correspondent up top may be a good example of this conflict as well. Not only are medusa piercings stretched so large rare themselves, but it’s especially uncommon to see something like this ostensibly independent of any other major modifications. (There are, of course, marks and scars that indicate previous work.) We’re fans of it, aesthetically speaking, but, even more so than knuckle tattoos, this is a pretty dramatic standalone piece of work. A nice close-up, after the jump.

  • Keys to the Future

And here we have René van Assema, hailing from Almere, The Netherlands, and checking in bravely from the dark side of the moon, apparently. And without a space suit or oxygen supply or anything! The difficulty of this sort of photo shoot cannot be overstated. This is literally impossible to accomplish, and yet? Here we are. Ever the modest model, though, René says only, “All you see is tattoo, no make-up or fake colors.” This seemed fairly obvious, until…well, you know where to look.

See? The eyebrows are a bit more obvious, but had the specific mention of the fact not been made, I would have just assumed the rest was eye make-up. Well played, my friend. Well played, indeed.

  • Squint on a Million

Well folks, as September draws to a close, so too ends BME’s world-famous Knuckle Month. As we’ve learned, publishing photos of knuckle tattoos brings out the tough customers, so let’s celebrate the commentariat’s vitriol with this offering from Tye, sporting the Queen’s script by Lila Way at True Grit Tattoos in Burlington, Ontario. After the jump, Tye mugs for the camera, just because. So long, Knuckle Month.

And here we have Duncan, checking in with some fine old school work courtesy of Shaun Bushnell (Glenn’s Tattoo Service), Joe Almquist and Scott Denhalter (Cape Fear Tattoo) and Brian Leebrick (Port City Tattoo), to say nothing of some fancy ear jewelry and a generally winsome demeanor. And hey, this photo also commemorates his one-year anniversary at the aforementioned Cape Fear Tattoo in Greenville, North Carolina, so congratulations for that! Upon hearing about the milestone and seeing the nice bold old school pieces, Bob Roberts showed up at his house, beat him senseless, gave him a cigar and then bought him whiskey and steak all night. True story.*

*Not a true story by any means.

The Sinner Team is for lovers! God, these kids and their adorable suspension photos, right? The last time we checked in with these folks, Anna was hanging from Stanislav, and there were many awws. This time around, this group of longhairs is being just as cute, except now it’s Pavel and Kate giving each other the lovers’ stare while some folks mill around in the back. We liked this photo so much, we decided it deserved a click-through, so enjoy a higher-res shot as well. As for The Sinner Team, we don’t know how many more couples you count among your ranks, but we are very ready to send some Spanish Fly up Russia way if it means more pictures like this. Just a thought, you know?
