So I was thinking about the recent post about job discrimination with body modification, as well as reflecting on the inspirational interview with Alvar from last year… it’s been my observation that the higher quality the job is and the better you have to be at it, the less relevant your body modifications become. On “low end” jobs it seems employers are much more able to get away with judging a person for petty things like earrings — but in the kind of job that I believe most exceptional people aspire to, one is generally judged more on ones frontal lobe than one’s 1″ lobe..
Anyway, so I was really pleased to see Kiowa from Missouri’s graduation photos proudly showing his stretched piercings, and wanted to use it as an excuse to (a) if you want to be free to live your life publicly modified, performing well academically is a great start, and (b) the BME 2008 scholarship application is available.

This implanted cock-ring is an experiment (click through for the explicit pictures) is being done by a BME/extreme reader from Germany who’s already played with lots of genital piercings and DIY tattooing. It’s a fantasy that I’ve been asked about numerous times over the last decade and a half, but have only seen a few times.
The intention is like the title says — a permanent, implanted cock ring. It’s a simple plastic ring, placed in true DIY style by simply cutting a hole in the skin at the base of the penis using a pair of scissors, forcing the ring into position, and stitching it up with a needle and thread.
At four weeks it’s doing just fine and appears solidly healed, although as I see it, sizing is a bit of an issue. On one hand, you don’t want to go too small with the ring because you risk a priapistic nightmare in which you have to cut the ring out to eliminate your painful erection, but on the other hand, if you go too loose, you’ve got something that’s more fantasy than function (although the fact that the ring is actually a C-shape helps).

The design was an idea I’d had in mind for maybe 18 months to two years and was umming and ahhhing over whether to get it done or not. When I went out to Thailand I was lucky enough to get to hang out with John Durante and Ron Garza and had a chat with them about some possible work I’d been thinking about. Since I was in Phuket for the Vegetarian Festival which, essentially, is a festival celebrating blood rituals, I couldn’t think of a better time to get them done to go through my own blood ritual.
The initial plan was to get both sides of my head done in tandem, one side by Ron the other side by John but Ron had to leave before the festival ended so it was just John doing both sides. We spent about three hours lining them up, and then about half an hour cutting. I’m so glad I had them done. Even in a not so perfect environment he was excellent, hygienically, and professionally speaking and I’m happy to have met so many wonderful people including Ron and John on my journey
Joathan says there’s no specific meaning in the design, and that he just wanted something symmetrical that suited his face. Mission accomplished! Anyway, continue for more pictures.
The fresh photos are, of course, fresh, and the healing pictures are at about three weeks. Once our video facilities are back in full gear we’ll update this with a procedure video as well.
