Sayeth Joseph Minek:
I wanted to get a tattoo to symbolize my constant searching for happiness (the surface). It is also part of lyrics from the Stick To Your Guns song “Looking For The Surface,” which I love. It’s also a cover-up of a penguin I got, who is now drowning, damn global warming!

Marissa sends in this tattoo, based on a drawing that describes how cats land on their feet. Look, I don’t need some fancy illustration to tell me how cats land on their feet — it’s witchcraft, plain and simple. When I throw my dogs around, they land on their asses, the way nature intended, and then they get a treat. Cats? Cats are acting in direct defiance of God’s will. Not surprising. Not surprising at all.

This isn’t a particularly provocative statement, but DrPhil‘s back-piece up there is one of the more original designs I’ve seen in a while. Not that something has to be unique to be great, of course, but there’s some stylistic stuff here you just don’t see very often, and I think it makes for an interesting piece. Also, any reference to The Clash, intentional or not, is a winner.

Good morning, ModBlog! Don’t forget that a balanced breakfast is the best way to start your day. Look at Ol’ Chompers up there — if he doesn’t start every day by devouring an entire, innocent water buffalo, right down its bones and soul, he is just in a rotten mood, at least until lunch, when a nice beet salad usually does the trick.
