And so here we revisit three pieces of ModBlog history: (1) tattoos by Jason Stephan, (2) my utter inability to tell apart cephalopods, and (3) glorious animal warfare! This time around, we’ve got a giant squid an octopus throwing down with a damned murderous shark, right there in the ocean, as pirates look on furtively, waiting. Really though, Jason Stephan is just killing it lately.

Well, folks, it’s time to bring to a close the world-famous “Impromptu Zoo” day on BME’s ModBlog. Rounding out the efforts today is this great leg-piece on Harm, featuring man’s best friend (a dog) engaged in an epic battle with, by far, the greatest threat currently facing the human race (a dragon). You know who wins when someone gets a fantastic tattoo of a dog fighting a dragon? We all do. We all do.

Good morning, ModBloggers! Let’s start the day off right, with an Island of Dr. Moreau–esque hell demon. This insane Leslie Nielsen/butterfly cross was tattooed by Chris Hall at Crown and Anchor Tattoo in Barrie, Ontario, and, well…wow. I support this wholeheartedly, don’t get me wrong, but in the interest of safety, I think both artist and client should check their homes for gas leaks.

So, the wonderful Jason Stephan has been dabbling in the black arts, apparently, because there he goes, cribbing from my nightmares again for tattoo ideas! At least he included the serene, vegetarian elephant to mitigate the bloodthirsty jackalope on the left.
After years as the owner and operator of Electric Eye Tattoo Studio, Stephan’s happily given up the business aspect of the industry and is focusing on tattooing full-time at King Street Body Gallery in Orlando, Florida. If he’s going to produce work like this, I don’t think anybody’s going to have a problem with that.
