The last time we saw ThundaKat79 she had just gotten her third eye microdermal put in. Since then, she’s added a new type of modification to her extensive collection, a subdermal implant of a heart on her forehead. With the vast array of visible modifications she has, this new one fits right in. Now the photo was taken soon after it was put in, so hopefully she’ll continue to send in photos of it as it heals up.

Put ‘em up

The lost art of fisticuffs. Where men would settle their differences face to face, and not at 20 paces. Nowadays we have MMA fighting where instead of standing on their feet facing their opponent, these men roll around on the ground giving each other hugs. Who would have thought that the simple phrase “let’s hug it out” would transform the art of hand to hand combat into something so undignified.
Thankfully Xusha is here to show you the basics of the fighting, as well as the star implant she has.

She’d sigh like Twig the Wonder kid and turn her face away

When I first read the description for this first photo I was confused. For some reason I read “sub-clavical piercings” but I couldn’t see them. Then I re-read it and realized what it was that caught my attention in the first place, her 3D implants. For some people the look of collar bones can be big turn on, and in Ratcaver’s case, she now has two sets. Her own, as well as her implants. They’re a little tricky to see in the first photo, but are very well defined in the second one. I’ve also included a third photo after the break that she sent in from before she had the implants done. Obviously Ratcaver is a Bowie fan, as she’s recreated the cover for Aladdin Sane in this first photo. You can also see some of her other piercings. All of them and the implants, with the exception of her lobes were done by Jeffery from Paradigm Bodyart in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
The second photo is a self portrait that evokes the image of Bond Girl Shirley Eaton from Goldfinger. With the change in lighting you can see the implants much more clearly.
There’s one more image taken before the implants were inserted, but you’ll have to keep reading to check it out.
In the last photo we get a good look at her chest microdermals as well as her nipple piercings.
Thanks again to Ratcaver for sending in these photos, and providing us with another Friday BMEGirl.

6 pictures worth 6 thousand words

A friend of mine sent me these procedural pics of a subdermal implant he did. He prefers to remain anonymous, which for procedures of questionable legality, such as subdermal implants, I whole heartedly recommend.
These pictures do a great job of showing the procedure step by step, from the marking to the suturing and each step in between. Procedural pics are a great way to see the actual procedure that was done to you as well as to share the steps with people who may be interested in the same mod. So next time you are getting a mod, whether it be subdermal implants or a simple piercing ask the artist if he/she minds photos being taken and if they are cool with it have a friend document the experience. Of course, submitting these pics to BME to share with the community would be a great next step!
To see all six procedural pictures in order, keep on keeping on.

To protect the world from devastation…

…to unite all peoples within our nation.
A few weeks back I featured an excellent scarification piece of a Pokemon by the name of Ninetails. After seeing so many people chiming in on their love of all things Pokemon, I knew it was only a matter of time that I’d see more Pokemon related images in the galleries. What I wasn’t expecting was this image sent in by IAM: Dead Filmaker.
As the self-professed “biggest nerd ever!”, Dead Filmaker had these implants inserted underneath his Pokeball tattoos a mere 5 days before attending the 2010 National Pokemon Championships. I can only imagine how fun it must have been to have Brian insert the one closest to his wrist from an opening up by the elbow. Not seeing any other sutures I’m assuming that they were all done using the same point of entry.
Now I’ll admit I was never a huge fan of Pokemon, at least nowhere near as big a fan as Mr. Filmaker there, but I did enjoy the games and show. I only had the original gameboy game, so I never got to see Team Rocket appear in the games, but Jesse and James were easily the best thing about that show. It’s a shame they always failed so spectacularly, the show would have been so much better if they had won much more often and Ash and co. were the ones screwing up trying to get their Pokemon back.
You can check out more photos like this, including more work by Mr. Brian Decker, in the 3D implant gallery.
