  • Love Hurts

    Yep.  Love hurts.  Either you’ve been heartbroken in the past, or are lonely today, or possibly you forgot to get a gift for that special someone and now you’re left hurting.  Sometimes it’s hard to describe the pain, but I think this photo from our hard galleries sums it up nicely.

    Love sometimes warrants sacrifices, and what bigger sacrifice than allowing yourself to be killed to forgive mankind of its sins.  Well the folks at #Leeds Airlines decided to recreate that sacrifice in the only way they knew how.  By actually crucifying one of their members.  Please note this is extremely dangerous and shouldn’t be attempted without proper research and a lot of experience.

    I’m going to let the artist of this piece, Jackie Rabbit, tell the story behind this tattoo.  It’s definitely a sappy love story, for those of you who like that sort of thing.

    A guy and a gal have each other in the “friend zone” since they were teenagers… not really ever knowing that they are both madly in love with each other. They stay best friends, helping each other through bad relationship after bad relationship even a couple failed and F-ed up marriages. Now they are pushing 40 and she has moved from NJ to WV…. They FINALLY give in to what they have both felt for all these years. So my client Greg moves all the way out here to the south to me with her and man are they in love. He got this tattoo to symbolize their love…the heart that has been broken then put back together, the clock gears to represent the time that has past and the time yet to come, and the Triscal knot for their friendship and unity.

    Happy V day everyone!  It’s that time of year when the greeting card industry cranks into high gear, florists make a small fortune off the promise of eternal love, conveniently gift-wrapped in a big red bow and new year’s resolutions are shattered by heart shaped boxes full of bonbons.  So to celebrate today is going to be full of hearts, flowers, and all sorts of lovey-dovey things, ranging from the traditional, to the very unconventional.

  • Seeing Purple

    I know that tattooing the sclera doesn’t change the color of your vision, but when you see images like this it’s natural to think that she may be seeing the world through a purple haze.  Just so we’re clear, eyeball tattooing is extremely dangerous and can easily lead to blindness with the smallest error.

    As you’ve probably guessed by the watermark, this eyeball tattoo was done by Howie down at First Blood in Sydney, Australia.
