I think this is either the second or third BMEGirl in the past few weeks that has turned up with purple hair, although this one has a bit more going on than just her hair color.

There were a lot of great moments from the 2011 Dallas Suscon, one of which was this suspension from the ihung.org crew. If I recall correctly, this is Drew from ihung, and he suspended pretty early on in the weekend. The dome he’s in is ihung’s portable suspension rigging, which can set up pretty much anywhere they want to suspend someone, without having to find a building or a tree.

One of the toughest parts of being a modification artist that tours is that you end up doing work on people in another country that you could possibly never see again. Which is why artists love it when they get photos from their clients showing off just how much they like whatever work they’ve had done. A few months back Efix was down in Australia working out of The Piercing Urge in Melbourne where he was able to give Adam a 3D-implant. Four months later, he got this picture in his inbox.
I think it’s safe to say he likes it.

On the hunt

We’ve seen examples of Gabor‘s minimalistic style a few times here, but I think this piece in particular really showcases his talents. When it comes to simplicity in art, you can’t get much simpler than cave paintings and petroglyphs.
However, to call this simple is a vast understatement. Cave paintings have been around for tens of thousands of years, and as art has progressed they have remained, permanently etched into the surface of the earth. Much like how this tattoo is permanently etched into this person. Gabor’s works have always had an element of the primal to them, and this piece brings it to the forefront. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

Pulling on the heart strings

It’s always fun to see just how creative piercers can get when given some needles and ribbon. This time is no exception. While we’ve seen similar couple corsets before, I think this is the first I’ve seen that not only successfully takes on the shape of a heart, but also incorporates the person in back’s hand (as you can see at the bottom of the photo).

Unfortunately I have to make yet another announcement today about the passing of another IAM member. Travis (IAM: lot_kid) passed away on May 30th after being struck by a car. We’re all saddened to hear of the loss of another member of our community, and our thoughts are with his family and friends.

I like that Andrea Ottlewski chose to go with a non-traditional skyline for this tattoo, instead choosing to highlight the natural aspects of the Pacific Northwest as well as the urban.
