Here’s a shot care of IAM:toddy of a Circus Carnis performance in Northbridge. It looks like a great performance, but I have to admit that it did take some flexing of my self control not to draw cartoon word bubbles and radically change the scene.

Butterphin or Dolfly?
Written by
I mean no offense to the wearer of this tattoo, but I did find it a little amusing to see two of the bigger clichés in tattooing combined into a single chimeric creature. If I was the ironic type, if they asked me what I thought of this tattoo, maybe I’d roll down my lip with a droll look on my face. And then they’d punch me in the nose and I wouldn’t feel so clever any more.

Personally I prefer just doing the math.

First, let me show you how they test their suspension rigs in Australia. This is care of Piercing Pete at The Piercing Urge in Melbourne (as a point of trivia, one of the older shops around, having opened in 1991). It’s a hardwood rig by the way, which presents some contamination worries (many groups are slowly shifting over to autoclavable rigs), but certainly isn’t lacking in the strength department.
In Britain however, even though they’re the punitive parents of Australia, they do things a little differently due to being corrupted by demons from the North. These photos, care of Al Overdrive, give you a sneak peak at how the Psycho Cyborgs test their gear.

World Record Piercing?
Written by
I could be wrong, but I’d say this piercing has a very good chance of being the oldest person ever pierced. This is by Little Ted in Milton Keynes, England who writes,
“Last year I re-pierced this lady’s ear lobes. You might say that piercing ear lobes is nothing special, and I would normally agree, but this lady had her original piercings done eighty years ago when she was nineteen and she wanted to wear some special earrings at her 100th birthday party. I am hoping to have performed ear lobe piercing with a standard blade on the oldest person that you have had on your site.”
I am nearly 100% sure that not only did Ted work on the oldest piercee on BME, but perhaps in the world? Anyone else reading this ever pierce anyone that’s in the century club?

Well, in a perfect world anyway. I love the latest gonzo tattoo (in a long, long series) by Larry Brogan over at Tattoo City Skin Art in Lockport, Illinois. It’s based on an old pinup.

The benefits of a scrotal tunnel
Written by
Perhaps the above entry got you wanting to see a post that’s a little more explicit? I’ll aim to do that here by telling the guys reading this why it’s in their best interests to get a scrotal piercing and stretch it up nice and big so it can fit a tunnel like most people wear in their ears.
So, you’ve got this kind of funny looking tunnel in your nutsack. Doesn’t seem like it’s doing much for you, right? But don’t sell it short. People will think it’s, like, neat-oh! They’ll want to look through it — is it really that big? Does it really go all the way through? And they’ll want to play with it. They’ll be thrilled to discover that it actually improves cell phone reception. And with their mouth so close, how can they resist a lick? Yeah, and it’s pretty much just all downhill from there. Or should I say uphill? I don’t know. Whichever you prefer. Trust me. You won’t regret it.

Konami Tattoo
Written by
Since I just posted about an Electronic Arts / EA gaming tattoo, I thought I ought to also mention this Konami tattoo. Shawn writes,
"Ever since I was a young boy, I thought the Konami logo was one of the coolest symbols I had ever seen. The simplistic swipes and its meaning, 'little wave', were to me very stylistic and interesting to see. I'm in a band called Temp Sound Solutions, and as of now to this point, I've written five full albums of video game covers, a lot of them being from Konami games."
"A few years back, I lost a good friend of mine who I was mainly in touch with over the Internet. We were friends for years and years. Another friend wrote a record called 'Konami' that we both adored and my friend's initials were 'S.S.', which I thought was very similar to the Konami logo. I got these tattoos to commemorate my friend's life and our bond of the love for music."

Thanks to Erenee for sending in this picture of thirty-three stars on her head, applied by Adam at River City in Killeen, Texas over two hours… I hope she keeps her head shaved after it’s all healed up, because I think it looks amazing like this!
