A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.
  • Tina at the Beach

Earlier this month I showed you Tina‘s new Romeo and Juliet sleeve, so I couldn’t resist sharing these great beach shots of her by AnGeLinPayN on Australia’s Gold Coast (Brisbane).

  • Good choice for a first tattoo!

I love it when people dive in and go big for their first one — assuming they choose a good artist, the result is almost always superior to the more timid and less large approach. Anyway, this first tattoo was done over two sessions by Chris Krahn at Krahnic Body Art in Boise, ID.

  • Square Scarification

First scars, by Paul at Body Manipulations (of America, not the Netherlands) — it reminds me of the recently posted black square tattoos:

  • Tattooed Pig Foot

Kevin from Ostend, Belgium, tells me this is “self done”, but I don’t believe the pig’s foot is quite that capable. I’m sorry, I know, it’s in bad taste to make second language jokes, but I just wanted some text because I hate posting photos all by themselves.

  • Chopped up fish tattoos

First a modern example of a fish in steaks, based on artwork by David Choe, tattooed by Scotty at Tattoo You in Columbia, Missouri.

I’d actually put that aside a while ago for posting here, and then I got a more traditional version of it that reminded me. This koi fish cut up on a dinner plate with lemon is by Rev Chriss Finalis at Shelton Tattoo in connecticut.

  • Et tu, Brute?

Since today is tattoo day on BME, let’s do all tattoos, finishing up with this “III: ET TU BRUTE” classics tattoo by Nikk at Lunchbox Tattoo in Johnsburg, IL.

Edit: The text of this entry doesn’t entirely make sense because I seem to have worked and played too hard yesterday and passed out before managing to get the entries posted, ha!

  • Scarification Leftovers

Lexci sends in these shots of some of the remnants of a skin removal done by Dirk Sullivan at Dragon FX Kingsway in Edmonton, AB.

  • Inner Fourchette Piercing?

So we’ve been debating here at the BME HQ whether this is an “inner fourchette”, or if it’s actually a hymen piercing (on a remnant perhaps — what do you think?). Liz got this very unusual piercing done by Brody at Elwood’s Body Mod in BC. As it heals I will be very interested to hear how it does and if it’s comfortable or not…

  • “Ink in honor of my firstborn child”

A photo in context. Tattoo by Bobby Trefz, formerly of Local Color Tattoo in Broomall, PA.

  • Middle Finger Skull Tattoos

Inkmanlarry (who is covered in tattoos!) sends in these shots of his latest tattoos, done at the All American Tattoo Festival in Sacramento, CA. I found it interesting that they chose to place them differently on the fingers (so the one has a lunula skullcap).
