A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Pussy Predator

    Ryan (PBA) sends in a photo of the new tattoo on his thigh, describing it as “another masterpiece by Nick Kelley, the man that brought you the celtic Colonel Sanders.”

  • “Nies” (“Is Not”) Piercing

    Manrique in Costa Rica got “inspired” and decided to do a piercing on himself. Never having seen it before he figured he would have the right to give it a name. He explains how he chose it,

    I like to call it the “NIES” which means “it’s not” in Spanish… I call it the nies because its not on the ear and its not on the face, jaja! I simply love my new piercing and would love to see it on Modblog!

  • Fear Not

    Jeremy recently had this tattoo done by Dave Wallin at Tattoo Culture in Brooklyn, NY. He explains,

    There were several characteristics I wanted for my first real piece. Mostly, I was looking for an interesting way to put text on my skin, specifically the phrase “fear not,” which has been an aspirational motto for me even in my darker hours. I decided to try it in negative space. For the background I came up with leaves as something organic and asymmetrical, and vaguely chaotic. Plus I thought it looked cool. Design-wise, I wanted something flat, with no illusion of depth, and I really wanted no black ink or outlines. I was told that this would result in spreading over time, and I said that was fine with me. If the tattoo decomposes into mulch, so much the better!

  • “Old Main” (Santa Fe, NM) Prison Suspension

    Outside of the fact that the folks from Ascension Suspension have some of the best performers in America, they also get some of the best locations. They recently did a photoshoot at the “Old Main” Prison in Santa Fe, NM, which was closed in 1999 and was the site of one of America’s most violent prison riots. *Stitch* suspended from a rope between the railings of the second tier in one of the cellblocks, and Kasja hung from a catwalk over the “Sally Port” (where buses and trucks enter and exit the prison), and they took their staff photos in the gas chamber.

    There are more photos after the break that Steve Truitt took, and hopefully in the future I’ll post an entry with some of the pro photos as well.

  • Bach Fan Tattoo

    So I discovered recently that sometimes people get music tattoos that aren’t the HIM logo or something Slipknot related! Anji from High Priestess in Eugene, OR sent this one in;

    “She’s a musician, she plays classical music, and she loves Bach. So we did an exact copy of his signature on her. The ink is black mixed down with a little brown, so as it heals it will look warm, like olde timey calligraphy ink. I really like this tattoo — sometimes the little stuff is my favorite.”

    I agree, and I really like the subtle touch of mixing brown in with the black ink.
