A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

  • Take these broken wings and learn to fly

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
    All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free
    -The Beatles

Jamie‘s take on a murder(?) of Irish blackbirds shows off just how diverse the artists of Tattoo Temple can be.  With just black ink, Jamie is able to create realistic birds mixed in with a spattering of “paint”.

  • Tale of Two Fishies – Part 1

Continuing with today’s Tattoo Temple marathon, we’ve got what’s Joey Pang is calling “Tale of Two Fishies – Part 1″.  Normally this is the part where I say you’ll see part 2 later on in the day, but it appears that part 2 isn’t finished just yet, so you’ll have to wait a while before you get to see it.  In the meantime you can enjoy part 1.  It’s worth noting that while you don’t see any of Joey’s signature calligraphy in the photo, her tattooing techniques still reflect her ability to transform a tattoo machine into a brush.

  • Nailed It

Nail, from Nail’s Tattoo in Budapest, Hungary, nailed this Mongolian girl tattoo.  The realism in the portrait works brilliantly with the abstract red and black that surrounds the image.

  • Ear Love

Joeltron‘s been playing around with some custom jewelry and the results are pretty amazing.  This 4pt heart piercing is just one of several that he’s uploaded to the piercing galleries.

  • Square Root

I really wish IAM:project29k had sent in more photos of this tattoo.  According to the description he provided us, there are 110 squares total, split between the solid black squares and the negative space ones.

  • Head to Feet

Good morning everyone!  We’re starting today off with some dotwork foot tattoos by Michael E. Bennett from 2Spirit Tattoo in San Francisco.

  • Shark Week pt.3

Alright this last shark week post isn’t technically a “shark”.  It is however a Street Shark!!

This amazing Moby Lick tattoo was done by Sagie from Walk the Line Tattoo Parlor in Karlstad, Sweden.

  • Shark Week pt.2

Continuing with today’s shark theme we have this scarification by Misty Forsberg (IAM:Southtownbaby).  You can find Misty most days at Southtown Tattoo and Body Piercing Studio in Fort Smith, AZ, or over on Hooklife.  This scar is actually the second scar she worked on and it’s located on someone’s stomach.

  • Shark Week pt.1

I can’t believe that in the two years I’ve been writing for ModBlog I’ve never actually acknowledged shark week.  So to make up for it, the next few posts from me today will all be shark related.  We’ll kick things off with a very vibrant shark from Eimear Kearney who works at Art and Soul Tattoo Studio in Cobh, Cork, Ireland.

  • The Friday Follow-up

As promised yesterday, today’s follow-up is going to be a look at Misty’s (IAM:Southtownbaby) first scarification piece.  We first saw it back in April of last year, and then again in June for a 3 month follow-up post.

    Here’s how it looked originally..

And here’s how it looks today, with some roses that Misty added recently.

This one really show how differently scars can heal on different people, and even how much scarification can differ on areas of the body.  You’ll notice more definition closer to the knee than there is at the top based entirely on the movement of the flesh in that area.  Looking back on the fresh photo you can see that the scarification was done evenly, that’s just how this person heals.  In any case, Misty did a great job for her first time out, and clearly the client is happy as he went back to her for the roses.
