Modblog must be having an international post day. First we had Henning from Denmark, then Nati from Costa Rica and now it’s Andre from Sweden who must be trying to compete with Babasom. Hopefully I can round out the rest of the day with more international submissions.

Nati likes snakes
Written by
From Nati’s short and sweet email I can garner a couple things. She likes robots, snakes, dimples and has an awesome barette collection. The only thing I’m not sure about is if she likes long walks on the beach. The tattoos are by Luis Bonilla and Alejandro Cole from Statttoos in San Pedro, San Jose which according to google is in Costa Rica. One of my favorite things about BME is the international reach that has been developed because of the internet. It’s amazing how beautiful and multi national our culture is. Hopefully it keeps growing and growing.
Don’t forget to check out the video posted earlier this morning. Another shot of the beautiful Nati after the jump!

BMEtv – Henning Jørgensen
Written by
I was really excited to post this interview with Henning Jørgensen not only because he’s an amazing tattoo artist and all around nice guy but because it’s a great in depth interview which is the direction we’re working to. Considering this is our third video to date, I’m pretty proud of the direction that it’s heading. As soon as I can get some more videographers on board to help out, we’ll be able to get a lot more videos put together and posted. If you’re interested in interviewing your local or favorite tattooer, let me know. You can always film them (along with background footage ie “b-roll”) and send the raw video for me to edit and post.[Javascript required to view Flash movie, please turn it on and refresh this page]

You spin me right round
Written by
Just to make everyone happy, I’ve used the nicely shaped buttocks here as the main image, but I must warn you that dadilydoo will spin around nicely for us to show the tattoo work that completes his entire leg. little-swastika is the artist credited out of Radolfzell, Germany.

I like your beard too.

This little devil made it’s way to BME from Madison, WI. Karcus from Tailor Made Tattoo and Body Modification had this to say about the piece.
“i recently started doing scarification and i’m especially proud of the demon head. it was done on my good friend jesse, from one satanist to another. he recently started getting into body modification and when we realized we were both satanists, our friendship grew quickly. we did this to represent the signature baphomet of the cos. karcus.com“
It’s interesting to note more and more shops with Body Modification in their names. It used to be whatever “Tattoo” or whatever “Tattoo & Piercing”. Most of the time shops didn’t even want piercing in their name but the tides are certainly changing. Shops are now not only advertising body piercing but they’re also advertising the various realms of modification that they offer. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues. While BME has always stood for Body Modification Ezine, the term Body Modification has been growing steadily and more recently at a significantly faster rate. News stories now refer to piercing and tattoos as modifications versus the traditional “body art” tag.

Cock.. peacock that is.

Fabrizio Divari send in a new tattoo to update his artist mini portfolio on BME. Does your favorite artist have a BME Mini Portfolio? If I’m remembering correctly we have almost 1500 tattooers portfolios. You should recommend to your artist to send in an email with at least 10 photos, their contact details and any other information they’d like to share with potential clients. It’s a great way to get your name out there for free! And now for your daily dose of cock, brought to you by BME! 🙂

Gentle Cuttings
Written by
Venis In Fur sends in her scarification by Ighlif. I’d be interested to know how old the cutting is because it doesn’t look like it was cut very deeply. It’s definitely a nice interpretation and placement considering the normal scarification in this area on women tends to be flowers or some other flowing piece. This one flows nicely and the placement is very fitting.
Included in her submission was the following quote:
“art cannot be modern. art is primordially eternal. to restrict the artist is a crime. it is to murder germinating life.”

Up a tree
Written by
I’m not really sure what Seeing Red is doing other than sitting in a tree posing for a nice photograph but it doesn’t look like a bad place to be. If I didn’t know better I’d think this photo was taken during the 60′s/70′s but I’m pretty sure he’s not that old.

I like beards
Written by
Donkey boy sent in this picture of his 2+ in lobes but in doing so it included this close up of his facial tattoo. It wasn’t clear if the lobe stretching was done by Ian McKown of Bound by Design in Denver, CO or if it’s the tattooing but either way, it’s getting on Modblog. I like how it flows around and works with his beard and follows up on to his lip.

BMEtv – Bugs
Written by
This is the second in the series I’ve put together for BME. I meant to post it yesterday but there were some issues here and there getting on the internet. Bugs is a tattoo from England, working out of a shop called Evil from the Needle. He’s currently working in Venice, CA. I tried to get some link action going on for this write up but my internet is failing miserably. The next video that I’m going to post later this week is with Henning Jørgensen, which I can’t wait for. It’s one of the best ones we’ve done so far. If you like these videos, don’t forget to check out our first video interview with Trevor McStay. Also, please post comments on if you like the videos or not so I know if this is something I should continue doing. I’ve got 4 more that need to be edited that are already filmed. Like I said, I can’t wait because I’m very excited. I’ve been compiling the list of suggestions from the other entries but if you have more suggestions on artists you’d like to see interviewed, please post them below![Javascript required to view Flash movie, please turn it on and refresh this page]
