A tattooed person suspends from hooks, laying flat, one leg higher than the other. Their head is back, and they seem to be smiling, dark hair dangling like an anime character.

About being a featured boy: This event is open to all BME Boys age 18 and over. BOYS of all shapes, sizes and race are encouraged to submit pictures. Contestants can be dressed or nude, but nothing too pornographic will be featured. Pictures need to be of decent quality, lest the readers condemn me to hell for posting webcam shots. Agreeing to be involved is consenting to be featured in the calendar, if you are selected for it. If you want to suggest someone, feel free to do so. I will contact them and see if they are interested, but no one will be featured without their explicit approval. To submit pictures, please email them to [email protected] Make sure to include your IAM: name (if you have one) and your real name in the email.

About voting: Votes will be tallied by emailing [email protected], just make the subject “Vote (insert name of boy you choose)” and your vote will be tallied. Voting last 7 days (168 hours) from the time the boy was posted.  Votes will be anonymous, there is no reason for anyone to know who voted for whom and how many votes each boy got.  Voting for one week ends when the following weeks post goes up. Please note, this isn’t about competition, it’s about a fun, interactive way to get the readers involved in the selection process.

About Commenting: I am enforcing a strict ZERO TOLERANCE policy for negative comments about the boys. They are being kind enough to share themselves with us and to help BME make a calendar, they should not have to fear public ridicule. Negative comments will be deleted, if we have a repeat offender, all of their future modblog comments will be sent to moderation. This isn’t about censorship, it’s about common courtesy and respect.

  • How many licks does it take to get to the subcutaneous layer?

The first time I saw this photo in thumbnail form, I though it was cool. Though at first glance, I failed  to realize he was getting implants in his head, I thought he was just chilling with a lollipop!

    untitled-11

Eric certainly looks calm and serene here, sucking on his lollipop while having dermal elevators worked into his noggin.

  • Only in a fluid sharing relationship…

…would it ever be considered ok to take out someone’s hooks, clean them off and then see what piercings of yours they would fit into.

Kevin, who submitted these pictures had this to say:

My girlfriend and I the day after her performance suspension in Columbus, OH for the band Only Flesh.  After lovingly massaging the air from her back and cleaning her shark hooks, I played around by putting the hooks in everything I could, like my 6g labret as seen here.  This photo seems to show a lovely middle-ground between my piercing/stretching obsession and her affinity for ink.  I’m so glad we share the same affinity for body modification 🙂  Photo by Samantha Hodges.

PS: I believe those shark hooks he refers to are actually salmon hooks.

  • Good Sportsmanship

Webster’s Dictionary defines sportsmanship as : “conduct (as fairness, respect for one’s opponent, and graciousness in winning or losing).”

Well, I should get a good sportsmanship metal for what I am doing here now, posting a nude shot of my closest legitimate piercing competitor Hannah, who works at Fatty’s Tattoo in DC.

  • It’s Springtime!

Even though we have had some ridiculously Summer like weather in my area, technically, it is still Spring. You know what that means? Dandelions! Weeds to some, beautiful flowers to others, but either way you can’t avoid them.

Ryan Oullette, who a lot of you may remember as the Lord Of The Blade, made sure for one lucky client of his, that dandelion season is year round. I don’t really like dandelions, or any plant for that matter, enough to carve it into my leg. However, if I was going to get a slab of bacon carved into me, you can be damn sure I’d stop by Precision Body Arts to hit up Ryan.

  • If it wasn’t for this tattoo, dinosaurs may still roam the Earth

There was a big update to the beta.bmezine.com recently, so I have  plenty of picking for modblog to last me a while. Unfortunately, a stomach virus got the best of me today, so one post is all I am gonna be able to knock out. Hopefully, I will wake up over this damn illness tomorrow and can get back on track.

When it comes to concepts for back pieces, this definitely ranks amongst the most original and well executed I have come across. This tattoo by Alex Vidaud of Nautilus Tattoo depicts the mass extinction of dinosaurs. They have plans of continuing the scene down his butt and to the backs of his knees with prehistoric underwater ocean.

On a side note, this piece won an award at the ’09 Paradise Tattoo Gathering.

  • Take that Damon Wayans!

I love cheesy reinterpretations of pop culture icons and ideals, and this piece by IAM member (and regular modblog commenter), Adam Burdine, is a prime example of just that.

One part movie reference+ one part currently trendy traditional style shark tattoo=  one very rad and creative piece.

  • How has this guy not been blogged before?

Really, when I came across Dr. Greenthumb’s (literally) green thumb, it blew my mind that this guy hasn’t been on modblog, much less,  not all over the intranet.

His tattoo fits him well, being that he is an amateur herpetologist as well as a Cypress Hill fan. It also helps to gives him one of the most legit IAM names ever.

I  had to ask the obvious, yet obnoxious, question we are all way too familiar with; “Did that hurt?” to which he responded:

It was a rather painful area to get tattooed. Especially around the cuticle is not pleasant. As of now I have only gotten the color to stay on top with a few blotches on the pad. I am determined to continue tattooing it until it is solid all the way around, then I’m going to tattoo roots and go from there.

For a close up shot of Dr. Greenthumb’s green thumb, keep on keeping on.

  • Liptril piercing?

Liptril is far from an official name, but when I saw this vertical labret that was pierced through a stretched labret, it instantly reminded me of  a septril piercing, and the word ‘liptril” popped into my head.

This creative piercing was done by Marea Vedge on her hubby Alan Vedge. As well as performing piercings this pair also runs Aesthetics custom jewelry company.

  • Congrats Dotty!

This stunning photo shows Dotty at 29 weeks pregnant. A few weeks later Talina was born (on March 30th at 12:59 AM), after 21 hours of labor. She was 10 pounds 9 ounces, and 22 inches long.

BME always get excited when one of our own has a child, it gives us a wee glimmer of hope for the next generation.  To see Talina’s picture, keep on keeping on.
