A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.
  • Flappy Flop

Joeltron, ever a fan of unusual piercings, pierced an ear that was slightly abnormal due to a birth defect.  The name he gave the piercing, “ear flappy flop doodad“.  It’s a technical name, with very specific anatomically correct terminology.

  • Over Hill, Over Dale

I’m not sure the owner of Dale here was thinking of Shakespeare when they named him, but they definitely went to an artist when it was time to get a portrait of him tattooed.

And in case the watermark didn’t give it away, the artist they went to was Jackie Rabbit from Star City Tattoo in Roanoke, VA

  • Wyrd Up!

For a guy that’s been featured on ModBlog many times, it’s actually pretty rare to see Gábor Zagyvai (IAM: Wyrd) in front of the camera.  What makes these pictures special is that they’re of his very first suspension.

That’s Péter Hidasi and Gergely Komáromi on the right getting Wyrd ready.

  • Chained Heat

Sure most corset piercings use ribbon, but when you’re working with someone like Kayla Ann a bit of extra metal goes a long way.

Now when it was time to take out the piercings, things got a little bloody.

  • Hidden Dragon

If you look closely you can see the dragon wrapped around the cherry blossom tree in this elegant tattoo by Joey Pang.  And as an added bonus, you get a good looking dude with his shirt off.

  • Forever 13

This brand-new branding was done by Brett Turner from Talisman Tattoo Art Studio located in York, UK.  Given the size and location, I’m hoping we get a follow-up photo down the line to see how it heals up.

  • The Friday Follow-up

Can you believe the week is almost over?  With all the holidays it seems like this week went by really quickly.  Of course, with it being Friday, it’s time for another scarification follow-up.  This one is a DIY scar created by IAM: Zmashd.  Here’s what she had to say about the process:

1 day old on this picture. I did a triangle, as a symbol of support to the LGBT community. I did it on myself (properly. using a #10 scalpel) and I must say I’m quite happy with how it turned out, even though the location was tricky. 🙂 It’s been healing well, so far.

And here’s how it’s looking now.

You know, for a first-time DIY scar, it’s looking pretty good.  If you’re wondering where the blood is coming from, take a look at the next photo.

You can see more of the scar, as well as the needle play that led to the bleeding over in the blood play gallery.

  • Blue Rose

Normally I don’t post unfinished tattoos, but this one by Nail is looking pretty good even though it isn’t finished.  Hopefully we’ll see it again when it’s finished.

  • The Quick Brown Fox

IAM: Meatshop Tattoo is really branching out into the abstract with this abstract fox backpiece.  This is one of those tattoos that you’re either going to love or hate.  The aesthetic isn’t for everyone, but for those that do love the style, this is a great example.

  • Pink and Black Attack

Here’s a very color coordinated corset piercing by Burt Holez from 3rd Dimension Tattoos and Piercing, which was done at the Ink Life Tour in Madison, WI.  And I know Jen will kill me for saying this, but The Anvil was always the better half of the Hart Foundation.
