A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.
  • Rat Portrait

Katie got this gorgeous memorial portrait of her pet rat, Kamp Koala, by Tim Jordan at Optic Nerve Arts in the Alberta Arts District of Portland, Oregon. It makes me miss my rat, Ginger Kang-Kang, who died of cancer about fifteen years ago. He spent a semester riding everywhere on my shoulder…

  • Cheek Spears

Jimi made himself these cheek spears and is just testing them out here in his bathroom… I really like his handlebars tattoo as well!

  • Finger Lickin’ Good

I don’t really know what the motivation behind this tattoo of a self consuming cow is — in this case done by Drew Atkins at Incorporated in Zanesville, Ohion — but all it brings to mind for me is the Ameglian Major Cow from Milliways (The Restaurant at the End of the Universe — I’m sure other Douglas Adams fans know what I’m talking about).

  • Revamped BME bunny

Dogfish got this great revamped BME bunny logo tattoo by Rebecca at Tatooatouage in Montréal, Quebec.

  • Did I forget to blur something? Uh oh…

When I was in psyche ward lock-down (what, you didn’t know that BME was started by an escaped mental patient? I kid you not…) there was a big catatonic guy that always wandered around in torn jeans with his nuts hanging out. It was really funny. While I hated being locked up, in a lot of ways I do really miss living in a mental hospital because there’s so much humor if you can dissociate from the fundamental horror of it all… This photo kind of reminds me of those days.

  • Cilantro in Theory

I don’t know what the title of this entry means but I didn’t write it… Owella got this great baroque-framed shadow puppet tattoo by Saint Kele Idol at Aerochild Tattoos in Birmingham, Alabama.

  • The Tattooed Graduate

Bronte, who occasionally covers up, was out in full tattooed-face force for her college graduation! Congratulations on another heavily tattooed professional changing the world!

  • Guerrilla Suspension in Switzerland

Ewigstahl did this guerrilla suspension at the Johanniterbridge in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland… They were expecting to have police or other problems and be up for five minutes at the most, but everything went well, and he managed to swing for half an hour — click for more.

  • Nipple Adornment

Denise from Jamming Piercing in St. Gallen, Switzerland did these six surface anchors and two nipple piercings on a customer using all Industrial Strength jewelry. Half of each set is healed, and half is fresh…

  • Strike a Pose!

Seriously, these outdoor suspensions that come in the summer just make the winter warehouse suspensions look so depressing in comparison… This is Alexis (if you’re an IAM member, check out his great UV nape chaos tattoo) suspending with Diddy and South Coast Suspensions.
