A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.
  • The Most High Above

Chris was one of my favorite shots from today. I’ve had an awesome response and I can’t wait to post the massive update of photos. This is only the first day!

For those of you asking what the tattoos on Chris’s chest say:

“The Most High Above Is My Only Judge”

    “Courage Glory Passion”

It wasn’t until getting online that I saw the L-O-T-S flashing in my inbox on IAM and realized just how many IAM members and BME readers were at the convention! It was great seeing and meeting so many people! Hopefully tomorrow is just as great!

  • BME AT NIX 2008 – ART FUSION EXPERIMENT AT M.O.C.C.A.

Click the image to read more.

As a precursor to the Northen Ink Xposure tattoo convention (NIX), Toronto’s Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art played host to the Art Fusion Experiment (AFE), which ran June 11-12. On Saturday night at M.O.C.C.A., canvases from the AFE will be auctioned off to benefit Art City in St. James Town, a Toronto-based not-for-profit organization “committed to providing free and accessible art programs to the children of St. James Town.”

  • Accidents Can Happen (But They Can Also Be Planned).

Not that I’m making a game out of this like I did with the Penis Pokey entry, but only one of the following digit (whether it be hand or foot) amputations were voluntarily..

The font will probably give it away when you click through but the interesting thing is that the ones that weren’t voluntary occurred before active military service!

  • Evan Almighty

    * – A friendly warning, his page has an auto-playlist so turn your volume down.

  • Thou Shalt Have A Fishie

I fail. I copied all the photos I’d edited for ModBlog onto a DVD-R before I left work, when I got home I remembered that the computer I’m borrowing only has a CD-RW, can we reschedule for tomorrow please?

The fish is probably less forgetful than me!

  • Bomb the Hippies!

    IAM: Erinrama.

  • Skull Me Beautiful!

Sorry about the larger than usual gap between posts, I went air conditioner hunting (grrrrr) after work and it was lame.

To keep you entertained until we get back to the boyz here’s a piece by Dr. Quinn (featured recently)..

  • One Chance, One Life. So Get A Job!!

Ok, I know I said today would be a BMEBoys day, but I can’t seem to find these two guys on IAM, I’m going to post them anyway as I’m sure someone will recognise them!

    Second photo after the break..

Tattoo on Cory by Mark Brettrager, Rising Tide Tattoo, Newark, Ohio.

Poland is a crazy country!! People here don’t understand that if you have piercings or tattoos you’re a normal person. I am twenty years old and I cant find a job in my city because of how I look.

I know how he feels in a way as I’ve lost a job due to my piercings (although they really were being unreasonable and I wasn’t willing to let them get away with such ignorance, but I’ll save that story for another day). Personally though I’d much rather sacrifice a job if it meant I could be myself and find employment in an atmosphere that made me happy. If an employer can’t look past physical appearance and are incapable of basing their decision on your skills, experience and personality, it’s likely they’re not worth working for anyway.

Just don’t wear a t-shirt like that to the interview. Kthx

  • BMXnet Conference 2007/2008

I’m glad to be able to republish the recap of the BMXnet conference to help support the efforts of INKstar and others in putting together a great educational conference. Click the image to read last year’s recap and find out information on this years convention. I’m happy to be a sponsor this year and should be attending the conference, even though due to Germany’s restrictions, BMXnet cannot link to BME.

    BMXnet Conference 2007

    By IAM: INKstar

In early November 2007, about 150 piercers, tattooists and other body modification artists came together to attend and participate in the first BMXnet Conference. This is an account written by one of the organizers, and was translated from German to English by Hillary.

  • And H8.

This one (with a “slightly more negative, but it’s only a cartoon so it’s ok” feel to it than the previous post) is apparently by Diverse Tattoos, in Hamburg, but I think the sender might have meant something else.. Either way, it made me smile!
