A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

  • The Secret Handshake

It’s been a couple weeks since the 2011 Dallas SusCon, and the photos are starting to trickle in.  Mark from Naked Lens Photography was on hand all weekend documenting every suspension.  But before any of the suspensions started a small business matter needed to be conducted.  Allen and the owner of the building needed to perform the secret handshake for the event to get under way.

What is the secret handshake you ask?

You might recognize the man with the massive transscrotal as Andrew from Swing Shift Side Show.  Later in the week he would go on to do the incredible facial suspension.

I know someone told me the exact size of his transscrotal on the weekend, but I can’t seem to recall it right now, so lets just leave it as, it’s freaking huge.

  • On broken wings

Don’t let the glare from the flash distract you from this autumn themed chest piece sent in by ChorusOfAngels.

  • The Lion King

We’re going to start the day off with a request.  Brian, I want a follow up picture of this scar.

You see, the reason I’m calling Brian out is because of his comments about this scar.  See that scar just to the bottom left of the cutting.  That’s from a case of chicken pox.  Given how the owner of the lion scars up, the end result of this could be incredible.

  • You must cross the river in order to continue

    You may:

    1. attempt to ford the river

    2. caulk the wagon and float it across

    3. take a ferry across

    4. wait to see if conditions improve

    5. throw some hooks and zipline across

    What is your choice?

Leave it up to Arseniy to pick option 5.

Of course he had the help of the #Leeds Suspension team from St. Petersburg, Russia to help him out.

  • A Holy Star

There’s not denying that this Star of David tattoo carries religious significance to the wearer.  While my Hebrew is non-existent, perhaps some of our readers could help provide a translation.  Unless of course Jen gets to this post first, as she is BME’s resident Hebrew expert.

If the watermark didn’t give it away, this tattoo was done by Cyber Tattoo, out of Israel.

  • Guess What?

Over the weekend I had a couple of people request a new Guess What post, so you ask, and I deliver.  This one is pretty straightforward.  Where did this chunk of flesh come from?

No hints.  You’re going to have to guess.  I will tell you that it isn’t a fortune cookie.

Think you know?  Well there’s only one way to find out if you’re right…

And there you have it.  That big chunk of tissue is what was removed during a navel removal by Samppa Von Cyborg.  Samppa’s US tour is still going strong, and he’ll be in LA until the 16th of May, when he’ll move on to Arizona until the end of the month.  After that he’ll be heading up to Las Vegas until the end of the tour on June 10th.  He still has spot available, so if you’d like to get something done, send him an e-mail at [email protected].

In addition, Samppa and Steve Haworth will also be holding seminars in Phoenix and Las Vegas.  Head on over to Steve’s website to get all the details.

Oh, and it should be noted that the vertical scar was there prior to the navel removal.

  • For comparison..

It’s not often a scarification artist gets to create a life-size portrait of something, especially when it’s in the same room.  Unless of course your name is Brian Decker.  Then you can expect someone to walk in with a lobster asking for a scar over top of some heavy blackwork.

As for the lobster.  He was either released back into the wilds of Williamsburg, or was served with a generous helping of butter.

  • Just another day on the beach

The sun is shining over the ocean, the waves crashing against the rocks, and yourmommyface is hanging out, taking it all in.

Devin Mense is credited for this suicide suspension.
