Personally I prefer the beauty of a modified person, but in no way do I think that’s what’s right for everyone. Beyond a few basic rules of aesthetics (and even they are debatable), this is a matter that is very much in the eye of the beholder. But one of the objective things I love about modified beauty is that it is self-actualized. It seizes control away from the biological lottery and the luck of who your ancestors are, and makes the transformative statement, “I will be whoever I choose to be”. That alone I find incredibly attractive… the idea that the beauty can arise from an act of will, a conscious dominance over fate.
On the left is Mary Jose Cristerna, and on the right is Martyna Wojciechowska. I must add that Martyna is plenty modified herself, although it’s not obvious in this particular photo, so everything I said above is true of her as well, if perhaps to a different degree.

Indeed. There are modifications I find attractive, and ones I don’t. But the /act/ of sculpting one’s own body is a powerful aesthetic statement, regardless of how the results are viewed by any particular observer.
Americans revere the Pilgrims for crossing the Atlantic in rickety boats, based upon the power of their beliefs. The fact that their purpose in coming here was that they wanted to set up a religious dictatorship has been forgotten – they failed at that, just as particular body modifications may fail to please the eye of a given observer – but the perseverance that they showed is still remembered.
Choosing to take control of something so basic and typically-unchallenged as one’s own physical form is a powerful act.
I have to admit that while the conceptual aspect of modification is in itself attractive, the aesthetic still plays a large part for me. While I respect the decision making behind the process the lady’s modifications aren’t what I’d chose as an aesthete.
