A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

The Friday Follow-up

This week’s scar goes back to September of 2009. Eroswastika’s negative space swastika scarification isn’t his first appearance in the Friday Follow-up, he actually has the distinction of being the first artist featured in the weekly column.

If you’re wondering where the blood is, I imagine that this was taken right after the site had been cleaned after the flesh removal.    Well, it’s been more than a year now since it was cut, so keep reading to see how it looks today.

If you want to check out more of Ighlif’s work, you can find it in the scarification galleries.

Really lovely, bold work here. The look of the scar tissue makes me wonder though…
Does the way the flesh is cut to be removed make any difference to the appearance of the scar, or does it rely solely on the skin itself?

Maybe it’s me having watched a few hours of WWII specials but is that supposed to be a swastika in the middle?

@Rob: But the Nazis DID have their swastika tilted like that, resting on a point and not on the side like the old Asian one.
I’ just guessing that the extra lines in the ends changes this swastika’s meaning, or something.

It is pointing to the right, but so does the hindu one, for once: http://homepage.smc.edu/quesada_donna/swastika.jpg
As for its orientation, my guess is that it works better on the side due to being positioned close to the man’s lats. Eroswastika is italian anyway, so if he was a right wing extremist he’d be more likely to have a celtic cross, or?
