A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Never Say Never

When I started piercing, I would often make definitive  statements such as “that will NEVER heal” referring to certain piercings or tattoos. Like the lady who had a cbr pierced right in her forehead that I met at a tattoo convention. It wanted to stick out, so she had glued the bead of it to her forehead with super glue………….The next year, I saw her and holy monkey turds Batman it had healed perfectly!

I have seen countless examples of ridiculous things heal since then, so now I tend to use phrases like “that has ALMOST no chance of healing”, because I have seen the “impossible” prove to be possible many, many times now.

When I first posted this tattoo last June, lot’s of commenters said it would NEVER heal. Well here it is,  several months later and while it has faded a bit, I would still consider it a huge success as far as palm tattoos go.

I’m writing an article on palm tattooing right now, which I hope to have completed by the 2yr anniversary of having mine done.(not that I’m necessarily going to publish it anywhere, but it’ll be completed) I’ve contacted a lot of people who’ve had palm tattoos, and most don’t make it to a year (if done incorrectly) without looking like hammered shit or multiple touchups.

My palms are my favorite tattoos, but christ they’re a bastard to get/heal.

I have had both of mine, one pass in full colour for almost 5 years now and they look just as good as the day they were done.

I have had my palm tattoos for nearly a year and a half. They are black line work, and have not faded. Too bad BME rejected my photo submission. They eye looks great!

Christopher, please feel free to resubmit a new photo that isn’t excessively photoshopped. The photo did look cool but it was too excessively photoshopped for us to accept it. Please feel free to submit photos of your hand tattoos in their actual form, we’d love to include them on the site!

Wow, I’m good with typos. Also, for any others with palm tattoos – do you still experience periodic peeling?

I’m sorry it took me so long to comment on this, but work has been extremely busy for me lately. Thank you for all the support and kind comments from those who kept an open mind. I think it’s funny that when the first one was posted, tons of people couldn’t wait to jump in and comment on my lack of tattooing ability, or how it would all fall out. Now that this has been posted 6 months later, all of those people are nowhere to be heard from. All I have to say to those people is, you should learn to keep an open mind and not assume that you are a better tattooer than someone else, or assume that you know the only secret way of doing something. I feel that tattooers who say they are better at tattooing than others, are usually trying to compensate for a lack of talent or capability. Best of wishes to all. Keep tacking away…..
