A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Nice Shooting, Son

I definitely feel like I’m missing the reference here, so until someone enlightens me as to who or what the subject of this stellar piece by Dustin Poole from Sacred Balance actually is, I’m just going to believe it to be the cyber-sexy offspring of Silver Surfer and lovable droid C3PO. Prove me wrong, ModBlog! Prove me wrong.

Similar to the pics in the links posted , my first reaction was it resembled the woman on the cover of Aerosmith’s album “Just Push Play”. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_fAT7UABRBOo/R6H_lmaAr7I/AAAAAAAAAqE/DHCrWKXsaXU/Aerosmith_Just_Push_Play-%5BFront%5D-%5Bwww.FreeCovers.net%5D.jpg

I’d agree with Joe and sat it’s the robot girl from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis: http://www.german-films.de/content/2/focus-metropolis.jpg
    Also:

I’d say Sorayama’s design was based on the robot from Metropolis buuut… You know I don’t know.

I dig this, metal can be tricky to render, but this was well done. I feel like the head could use some work though, some blue thrown in.
