A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Unicone!

Douglas Billian was asked by a client for this Unicone tattoo, during the session they explained..

It’s a dedication to someone I finally met after being internet friends for years, she worked at an ice cream shop (hence the clever cone) and we fell in love!

Erica.

    Nice, plus original.

But it does seem that “modblog” is sort of becoming “tatblog”. I love tattoos and all, but there’s a bazillion tattoo blogs out there already, I always came to modblog for the more… interesting… body mods.

Just my $.02, worth what you paid.

    I’m not impressed.

I’ve been coming to the site less and less since the “new management” changes. I think this is going to be the nail in the coffin for me.

    BME was good. RIP.

#1 – I’m not sure where you’re seeing all these tattoo posts, because if you look at the last few pages it’s pretty evenly distributed between various other body mods.

Very clever and original tattoo though, 🙂

Natalia, someone who thought it should be posted put a link to it in the comments of another post and it was the first tattoo you saw for the fantasy tattoos for awhile. Might be where you saw it?

“I just think that everyone who visits this site should appreciate the quality of work put into hosting and running this quite amazing site”

And that presumably includes the unspoken caveat that no one is allowed to make even the most passing of critical comments?

When did discourse become a one way street where only those who agree are deemed “OK”?

first off, i do love the tattoo. secondly, i dont really mind the changes, aside from the fact that i enjoyed the concept of MODBLOG, not news.bmezine.com. it might have just been the name i enjoyed. nevertheless, roo has been doing a good job.

“…aside from the fact that i enjoyed the concept of MODBLOG, not news.bmezine.com…”

100% agree, I really liked the simplicity of modblog, now it’s bundled with a bunch of other stuff which, for some reason I can’t put my finger on, reduces it’s impact IMO.

this horse is from a book called “draw 50 horses”….i know because i had it when i was like 7, so other than the design not being completely original it’s nice work.

  21. Telyn Avatar

I like this possibly more than I reasonably should… It’s just FUN and well-executed.

  22. erica Avatar

No idea what draw 50 horses is.. never read it as a child.

So i can assure you, that pretty little thing tattooed on my forearm is very much original.

thanks for the positive feedback. we won first for small color at a convention this weekend!

hahaha every time I see a unicorn I now think of

    CANNNDY MOUNTAIN CHARLIE!

The tattoo looks good though, and bme news looks a lot better now that you don’t have to click through on all the posts.. It’s also nice that when you go to the old modblog it fw’s you here 🙂

just because you’ve never read it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exsist. it just means whoever drew it didn’t draw it from scratch

  26. Tranque Avatar

Neeecole – or, perhaps, they have never heard of it either, and the idea just happened to be similar to a design in the drawing book.
You had it when you were seven, so perhaps you’ve lost some details due to memory.

If not, I don’t find it hard to believe that two people in the entire world have ever had similar ideas.

  27. Tranque Avatar

Hah, I forgot to add. >.> I think this is a cute tattoo. It’s a nice twist on the “lover tattoo” thing.

Well, Neeecole, I’d say your memory is spot on after zooming on the Amazon cover.

Tranque, looks like Ames and Zak copyrighted their book of illustrations in 1984. Similar? Sure. Same except for minor artistic interpretation differences? Hmmm….

    Hope they got permission first.
