So to “celebrate” the new Charles Manson album being released free, here’s a recent HELTER SKELTER tattoo by Joey Saindon at Mantra Tattoos in Frederickton, New Brunswick… I’m going to go watch Survivor now, but I have some great stuff to post in the morning.

In response to Shannon and Snap Dragon,
Its the same reason that you never here the United States comming under scrutiny for Human Rights Violations. Or how military/governmental leaders never face trials for, or even openly accused of being, war criminals.
It’s acceptable, expected even, to feel contempt towards a mass murderer or serial killer.Their actions are forthright. Blatant. Not masked (however transparently) in nationalistic rhetoric. “Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty, and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty.” H. Zinn

but don’t you see? it’s ohk for bush and other political figures to throw away peoples lives because it’s for money and power.
doing it for the lols is what makes it wrong.

“If a cult leader that got a whole bunch of people killed (but never killed anyone personally) deserves death, why don’t Bush/Cheney/etc deserve death?”
Now you’re not even trying, Shannon.

Bobb, the reality is that both are having people killed by proxy for personal/ideological reasons. I don’t see that one is morally superior to the other.

I’m with you all the way Warren (Post number 19)!
Personally I like the tattoo, and to be honest I’ve considered getting a Manson quote tattooed myself (without the name of course, I’m not THAT brave).
I can only imagine what the casual person down the street is going to say.
All in all though I’ve always found Manson to be one of the most interesting “murderers” (I use quotes as he technically didn’t kill anyone himself) out there. More power to this person for getting a spiffy, and if nothing else controversial tattoo.

#6 How can you consider Manson a serial killer? Psychopath, check. Cult guru, check. Serial killer? He doesn’t qualify for lack of actual serial murders.

Who said Bush is morally superior to anyone? Why are you flame baiting? I think that’s Bobb’s point. It’s also kind of bizarre to say that because someone says they feel a certain way about a particular person, they somehow don’t feel that way about someone else… When I make a comment about someone, do I have to mention in the same breath everyone else I feel that way about? You’re just being weird and petty, Shannon, not making anyone think.

I swear I saw Snoop Dogg at first, instead of Charles Manson.

Matt – If you read nature223′s other posts you’ll see the relevance.
I also don’t think it’s bizarre that calling for someone’s death be for their actions, rather than their personality or politics.

#6 said they have been studying serial killers, and made the claim that Charles Manson never killed anyone. But he has confessed to killing Crowe in his hollywood apt.

I belive they do deserve it. Of course one has to question wether any human or governmenmt has the right to decide who deserves live or dies…

shannon your basic premise is flawed….
freeing a stricken nation with VOLUNTEER fighters after being a duly elected president.
can NOT compare to a crazed person seeking to make death his annointing of grace,to unwilling victims…
nice bush slam though…you guys still havent gotten him out of office with global whining..too bad, guess he’s doing something that needs to be done and you cant see the bigger picture, and long term goals….but that’s okay, your not a political animal,at least not one who “GETS IT”

“both [Manson and Bush had] people killed by proxy for personal/ideological reasons. I don’t see that one is morally superior to the other.”
I doubt many people here are Bush supporters or war supporters, Shannon, but if you really can’t see the difference between a convicted murderer who incited others to slaughter people and an elected (yes, elected — at least once) president who led his country into war, with a great deal of support, it should be remembered, then nothing anyone says here will help you.
I suppose in the cloistered world of BME it ultimately doesn’t matter, since it’s highly unlikely anyone will ever get an image of George installed on their body.

“freeing a stricken nation with VOLUNTEER fighters after being a duly elected president.”
but why is it that America HAS to “free” all these “stricken nation”?
Other than the fact that American’s prime source of living for the past couple hundred years has been primarily on “war”…aka “War Is Business and Business is War”
Also if we factor in Rice, Cheney, Rumsfield and the various big names who have actually condoned and advocated “enhanced interrogation techniques” which is a fancy word for TORTURE.
Also your stating volunteer’s…But do you even know most of the younger military these days? Most of them join the military because they have no other way…I used to see it all the time at my old shop in Niagara Falls…Barely legal kids walking in to get work done before they take off to Iraq, etc….Is it really “volunteering” when they’re not given another option in life? (ie: come join us! we’ll teach you how to play real life cool video games! and we’ll pay for your education, etc!)
I wonder how controversial it’d be to do up a tattoo of Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powel, Rumsfield, etc, etc, etc all put in the background of: “The Last Supper” hehehe 😉

Anyone who’s seen photos of a dead Sharon Tate and her friends, that’s who.

I wonder if it was a conscious decision to replace Manson’s forehead swastika with a more benign cross, and if so, what the logic behind it was.

Neither morally superior to the other, but one was chosen by the people to continue… Which makes it all the more troublesome.

Aw. I think thats a really cute portrait of Charlie. I was like you once. Lost, confused, a piece of shit. Then I met Charlie.
Less a serial, more an excellent conspirator… getting into others’ minds and convincing them to do the unthinkable.
In response to the above comments… to say we’re in Iraq because we’re volunteering to save them from Saddam…. not to undermine the conditions in Iraq, but I’m pretty sure Africa is experiencing far worse conditions of violence, extreme poverty, disease, starvation, and genocide than Iraq is. But somehow Iraq needs us to jump in more, and somehow they’re the only ones with an asset we covet…
