Zae Dolly has begun working on a patchwork themed tattoo on her arm, by David Frazee at T-Cats in Flint, Michigan. She says it will be the foundation of a symbolic piece representing her life journey. She plans on mixing in smaller “random” tattoos onto the patches that will fill out the story of her life in detail.

I’ve always loved the idea, so much that I actually had a few drawings with the same theme a whie ago and I actually have a patchwork themed arm. I gave up on having the sewed up look though sometime in the process.

sooo cool.

It’s also the opposite of bio-mechanical tattoos, yet somewhat alike in that it’s not just an image stuck on skin but actually a redesign of how the member is presented. My favourite tattoo artist hates them bio-mech themes with a passion, but wouldn’t hate this one, methinks.

Reminded me of Sally, too. I toyed with the idea of putting ‘stitch’ tattoos around my elbows or wrists when I was younger, but I’ve since scrapped that idea. Very nice here though.

Oh that is beautiful. I think if some of the patches were like a light grey colour it would look awesome.

Lovely, I’m actually planning a patchwork type sleeve, sans the stitching. I absolutely love this, though, and can’t wait to see the finished product.

I like it as is, but I’m excited to see what she plans to add to it!
One of my favourites on ModBlog! (Second only to the biomech arm and circuitboard UV tats)

I sincerely hope we get to see each stage of this piece as it progresses. I’m already completely enthralled.
