A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Inanimate Objects Need Tattoo Love Too

I don’t know if you can call a disembodied flesh truly inanimate, as it at least used to be animate… in any case, it’s what Sephanie Carr (Dragon FX, Kingsway) has been using to hone her portraiture skills before moving on to human bodies.

I’m not sure if a pomelo is inanimate either, since it’ s alive, but it’s what Katie Quinn in San Mateo is using to learn — this is her third tattoo ever. The pomelo feels very bad-ass now…

I think I might become a vegan tattoo artist and only tattoo fruit.

    13. VikingValkyrie,
Nice idea. Drop us a line when you start your own studio. My pineapple and coconut have been wanting for a tattoo for a while, but no tattoo artist have been willing to take up the challenge.
So maybe you have what it takes 😉

I’d really like to see what the inside of that pomelo looks like…. Mmm, pomelo….

Is the first one a pig joint?

A coule of you have pointed out that the first tattoo resembled something that could have come from a human… doesn’t it bother you when you eat it? Oh wait, the meat industry makes it look like something else, so it’s ok?

    Awesome tattoos though!

I’m gonna have to track down a pomelo, I tired something like that on a water melon, it just split and leaked everywhere 🙁 The cat tatoo’s gooad as well, even if it doesn’t really look all that much like the one in the picture.

I feel silly, but what exactly is the flesh in the first image taken from? Is it pig skin? I remember hearing years ago about tattoo artists learning on pig skin, but since then I have met SO many that didn’t seem to practice on anything but themselves that I began to think it was just a rumor. And a poor pomelo! 😛 I’m glad to see that citrus tattooing isn’t a rumor.
