Great news, but first a big congratulations to Matt Larkin for the indie release of his first book. For the last few years he’s been shooting the folks from Rites of Passage using ambrotype photography (ie. wet plate, a 19th century technique that’s rare these days). Wow. These are stunning, I am awe struck! Good for him for resurrecting that technique, it gives results that no other method can (clearly that’s obvious in the examples here). Congrats Mr. Larkin, your art is inspiring.

I love that style of photography, it reminds me of Sally Mann. There needs to be some top-class imagery of suspensions, etc, out there. I would put that on my wall.
