It confused a lot people here when I would refer to football, so I’m glad there’s another term for americans “soccer” so I don’t have all the time to mime what I call by football.

Exactly my point. I’ve seen soccer games where the players are just playing keep away until the clock runs out, rather than actually going for a win. That’s a coward’s game.
