A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!

You know, I’m probably damning myself just for posting this. Larry “Have a sense of humor for Christ’s Sake” Brogan (Tattoo City, Lockport, IL) is probably also damned, and the wearer of this tattoo? Definitely headed for a warmer climate!

i’m surprised no one mentioned that it’s just an act of self love.

149 – Good point about the difference between respecting opinions and respecting the right to an opinion… Here I must quote Voltaire:
“Sir, my opinion is that you are an arsehole, but I shall defend your right to be an arsehole to the death!”

Because in fact, who says you can’t make fun of religion? Because someone is sensitive about something, why can’t we mention it and perhaps poke fun at it? In my life, I’ve suffered bullying, physical harm, and sexual abuse. Does this mean that I ask everyone I know to never, ever mention any one of those things or discuss them, because I can’t deal with them or haven’t dealt with them in the past?

Life is about dealing with things, not withdrawing into a shell every time something or someone hurts you. If you don’t confront your fears, they will consume you whole. The same goes with doubts. If no-one questions your beliefs, how can you test how deep and solid they are?

On top of all this, who knows that the wearer of this tattoo got it to be offensive? We don’t know anything of their motivation, but to me it seems to be first and foremost an appreciation of the absurdity of language, and an expression of the freedom to exploit one’s own sense of humour.

Plus it’s a really nice piece of work, technically speaking…

Esmerelda, I believe a closer representation of Voltaire’s quote would be, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”

This is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen. And as I was sitting here, reading through everyone’s responses, the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to my door with pamphlets about “temptation on the internet” Perfect timing!

I can see how people would be offended. I’m vegan, we are known for being uppity and easily-offended assholes, if I saw a tattoo that somehow mocked veganism in a similar way such as this… I wouldn’t care, and would probably laugh. But RELIGION is more than a dietary preference, it’s your whole system of beliefs, if Jesus was my religious icon of choice and I saw this tattoo…

I wouldn’t care, and would probably laugh, because it’s fucking AWESOME AND HILARIOUS! I want one now. omg.

One. this is not criticism of the religion but rather a depiction of Jesus’ “name” with a lovely little pop-culture infix.

Two. It is not deep, meaningful, or even horribly creative in anyway… its a joke. One that is no more blasphemous then all those lovely paintings showing a pasty skinned white boy as Jesus. I hate to think that my Grandmother is going to hell for owning/praying one.

Put one and two together, get off your soap box and STFU. Believe in anything you want, but please think critically about it. Religion doesn’t give you the right to act like a moron…

    people, lighten up….

everyday non-believers, athiests, agnostics, satanists… etc are ridiculed, and have religion pushed in thier faces one way or another…. just for not believeing.
    mostly treated like a disease…

    but fuck. get over it.

i think this tattoo is awesome, and no i dont believe im going to “hell” (or rather the idea of it)

i think it’s funny that so many people here believe in Hell……grow up! I love Larry Brogan, and this is why. I only read the first 50 comments…….but this is nothing like a racist tattoo. Hating someone because of the way they are born isn’t nice, but hating someone because they chose to allow themselves to be brainwashed is fine with me……

I grew up around religion, and I realized as a kid how full of shit it all was……THANK GOD!!…..haha
