A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Scars augmenting tattoos

I’ve featured tattoos that augment scarification projects, and I’ve featured scars that destroy pigment, done over top of tattoos, but this is one of the first cases where I’ve seen a scar done on a tattoo after the fact where the keloids were intended to augment the tattoo! Thanks to Joshlobes for sending this, both fresh and well into its healing.

I am realy growing quite fond of tattoos with scarification added to the design and vice versa, it makes for an amazing design.

I love this — it reminds me of “mixed media” art, which I also love.

What about that old school rose tattoo that had sections of it cut out?

I really like that. I always wonder how people come up with these ideas.

Wow! I just love how the scars add texture to it, it almost looks like a halograph card…I really want to feel that tattoo for some reason..

This is a really well done integration of tattoos and scarification. The scars really highlight the outlines well.

Love how that’s done. Have been trying to figure out a design that would look good with something similar to that done.
