I’ve featured tattoos that augment scarification projects, and I’ve featured scars that destroy pigment, done over top of tattoos, but this is one of the first cases where I’ve seen a scar done on a tattoo after the fact where the keloids were intended to augment the tattoo! Thanks to Joshlobes for sending this, both fresh and well into its healing.

I am realy growing quite fond of tattoos with scarification added to the design and vice versa, it makes for an amazing design.
Second that 🙂
I love this — it reminds me of “mixed media” art, which I also love.
What about that old school rose tattoo that had sections of it cut out?
I really like that. I always wonder how people come up with these ideas.
As this grows more popular I hope Shannon post more of them ’cause I love the effect
Wow! I just love how the scars add texture to it, it almost looks like a halograph card…I really want to feel that tattoo for some reason..
This is a really well done integration of tattoos and scarification. The scars really highlight the outlines well.
Love how that’s done. Have been trying to figure out a design that would look good with something similar to that done.
that really works well, nice one 🙂
even though it’s a skull and supposed to be scary and whatnot, I still think it looks cute. scars+tattoos done well look really good togther.
I have seen this in person. Its the piece that made me decide to get cut by that “artiste”.
