A black-and-white photo of a person mid-air in a Superman-style body suspension pose, supported by multiple hooks in their back and legs, smiling joyfully toward the camera. They are suspended horizontally in a large indoor space with high ceilings and visible rigging. A group of onlookers—some seated, some standing—watch with expressions of admiration, amusement, and support. The atmosphere is lively and communal, capturing a moment of shared experience and transformation.

Bacon Armband

The funny thing is, bacon tattoos are not unique to Mason (pictured here with his bacon armband tattoo by Ken Dean at Pino Bros Ink in Cambridge, MA) — Perk900 has one too!

Funny idea, too bad it doesn’t look real.

It doesn’t need to look real, it’s iconic – stylized, if you will. Find me one person who won’t look at that and go “hey, bacon!”

There’s something about the black outline that doesn’t look right. But, mmmmm bacon.

The dog from those “Beggin’ Strips” commercials will definitely say that.

I’m guessing that it might be the fact that bacon doesn’t typicaly have a thivk black outline. Anyways a kind of random looks like first tattoo to get, wonder what the story was

It actually looks a lot like vegetarian bacon – but vegetarian bacon doesn’t taste OR look like real bacon. Veggie bacon’s still mighty tasty though.

I really would like to know the story of this tat, that’s for sure!

    To answer a few questions:

    1) It wasn’t meant to look like photorealistic bacon. It was supposed to be somewhat cartoonish, but not too cartoonish so i think Ken got it exactly how I wanted it. Same answer for the balck lines.

    2) The story behind it? I REALLY like bacon. My wife and I were discussing a design I had when she said that she didn’t really see me with it. She said she saw me with something more original like bacon. The lightbulb turned on and I felt like a fool for not thinking of it myself. A few days later I told her I had an appointment with Ken to get the bacon tattoo. She was shocked and said she mentioned the bacon as a joke. Oh well, too late 😉

    3) To those that talked about bacon going with everything try a “bacon waffle”. Fry up 4 pieces of bacon relly crisp like, and break it up into about 1 inch pieces. Pour half of the waffle batter into the wafle iron, then place the bacon in and cover with the rest of the batter. Enjoy.

    4) I was at the Boston Tattoo Convention last night when a random woman spotted my tattoo and let me know it was up here on the blog. So thanks to you for the heads up.

After seeing this fantastic tattoo in person (I am the “random woman” in Boston) I can honestly say that the photograph doesn’t do the ink justice.

In person, the color really has depth to it and so many more color variations than what the image captured… what a great tattoo.
